CHAPTER 1

EXCUSE ME PLEASE
When we consider the concept of the church from it's Greek origin which is called Ecclesia
(called out) it is without doubt that we come to realize that the church was called out of
something into something. This is not a feeble attempt by God who has called us into fellowship
with His dear Son but a great feat of Royalty. It must be noted that the church in the scripture
talks about fellowship, communion with the bridegroom which is Christ. The Fellowship here
referred to isKoinonia in the Greek.
God is faithful by whom you were called into the fellowship of His son Jesus Christ
our Lord (1Corinthians 1:9).
Koinonia in the original Greek translation refers to intercourse. It is at this point that the
phrase And they shall know me(Hosea 2:20),comes to the fore. The word know as used here
refers to LYING TOGETHER that is the same word used when the scripture declares and Adam
knew Eve his wife(Genesis 4:17). It is the same word used when the scripture declares
concerning David the King, that he knew her not (1Kings 1:4). By allusion when two stones
are struck together there's always a spark, when you strike a match stick on a match box what
you get is fire. Every joining together will either cause a response or provoke a reaction.
Once it is an unequal yoking there's a reaction but if it's an equal yoking then there's a
response. Then the question is to what and to whom are we yoked. What happens when two lie
together? There's warmth (Ecclesiastes 4:11). This is indeed communion (come-into-union).

To become one with Him. But God who is faithful extends His munificence and
unreserved benevolence and unconditional kindness to His church. For God to call His church
which is His bride, He would have to court her consent and her love. This becomes a matter of
priority.
So that we may boldly declare We love Him because He first loved us(1st John 4:19 ).
But how does the sovereign one, the immortal, the only potentate, the invisible king who dwells
in the midst of light that cannot be approached, He whom no one has seen and will ever see, and
He who is of purer eyes and cannot behold iniquity, make advances on a prostitute. What! Gods
church a prostitute?
The scripture declares that why we were yet sinners and without strength, having no hope
and without God in the world Christ died for us (Romans 5:6-8). (Ephesians 2:12). While
she(the church) yet went after her lovers that gave her bread and water, wool and flax, oil and
drink.
For their mother has played the harlot: she that conceived them has done shamefully: For she
said I will go after my lovers, that give me my bread and my water, my wool and my flax, my oil
and my drink (Hosea 2:5).
You will discover in chapter three of Hosea that the Lord asked the prophet to marry an
adulteress(Hosea3:1) shes an adulteress because she looked to other gods and love flagons of
wine. In fact in chapter one, the lord calls her a wife of whoredoms (Hosea 1:1) The bread
and water, wool and flax, oil and drink are only symbolisms of the lust of the eyes, the lust of the
flesh and the pride of life. God graphically depicts the wondering state of the church, the ones
He called out and gave a grave warning saying

thou shalt serve no other god beside me (Exodus. 20:3-5).

To us this solemn charge was given yet-treated as a mere threat of a weak monarch or a
passive sovereign. So now the scripture uncovers the state of the church the bride and gives us a
vivid picture of her whoredoms. Through the prophet Jeremiah God declares..
They have forsaken the fountains of living water and have hewed for themselves broken
cisterns that cannot hold water (Jeremiah. 2:13)
First the Lord calls His church out of Egypt (the House of captivity). But she had found other
lovers who made supplies to her. The issue of who is our source and who supplies and what is
supplied is an all important one in the mind of God.
And she shall follow after her lovers but she shall not overtake them and she shall seek them but
shall not find them then shall she say I will go and return to my first husband for then was it
better with me than now.

(Hosea 2:7)

She repeatedly goes down to Egypt for help and she has said for then it was better with me than
now. You will notice that each time God wants to describe the backsliding state of his people he
would speak of them GOING DOWN to Egypt. (Isaiah 30:1-2).
Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because
they are many and in horsemen, because they are very strong, because they look not unto the
Holy one of Isreal, neither seek the Lord. (Isaiah 31:1)
The things we have been delivered from are the very things that have entangled us. How often
do we become impatient when our desires tarry!

Some have even said that the ways of God are slow so it is when all things have failed
that they seek God. It must be boldly declared that to Gods options there can never be an
alternative.
We think God as a means to an end not as an end in Himself. So God's people whom He
delivered out of Egypt who better still by divine orchestration did not leave Egypt empty handed
(Exodus. 12:36), were quick to set up a graven image (Egyptian mentality). Setting our affections
on things that God has rejected is a graven image set upon the altars of our hearts. God cannot
be last. For in all things He must have the pre-eminence (the first-place),
And he is before all things and by him all things consists and he is the head of the body which is
the church who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead that in ALL things he might have the
PRE-EMINENCE. (Colossians 1:18).
No one can supplement Gods complement. Whatever takes the place of God in our lives is an
idol. Again to describe the adulterous state of God's people, there came a time when everyman
did what was right in his sight (Judges 21:25). But what is right in our sight might be wrong in
the sight of God.
No regards for decency, no respect for God's laws. Holiness was no more a priority.
Righteousness was a burden. They gave themselves to brute desires. This is not anything far
from the condition of the church; self determination, personal aspirations, ambition and
reputation are the drives of the church today.
We have set standards by ourselves that we may live by them as our priorities.

But we really do not have any priorities until Christ becomes our standard. As if this was not
enough, God's people sought to have a king like other nations (1Samuel 8:4-5). They were fedup with God's Lordship and government over them.
They wanted to enthrone democracy over theocracy. The government of the people, by the
people and for the people, has never been God's idea over His own. Hence, Saul declared,
Because I feared the people and obeyed their voice

(1 Samuel 15:24).

The sovereign king whose name is the Lord of host, instituted theocracy the government
of God Himself. This is a condensed metaphor to the church of God who often times seek to be
like the world (other nations). We have become so flexible enough to adjust as often as occasion
demands to the seductions of the world.
Things are now done by all means instead of Gods means. The patterns and prototypes
of the world has modelled our out look and mind-set in the Church
Too many a Christian fall prey to the clich it doesn't matter. So now you would
discern well enough that this state of the church (the called out ones) from the beginning was an
adulterous one. Infact the word prostitute means to give oneself to a base, worthless thing or
course.
In this same way the church has given herself to base things and have left THE
WEIGHTIER MATTERS (Matthew 23:23). Now you understand why I dare refer to the church
as the SCARLET WOMAN. But because God is love, He does not only love but He is love.
How I love this description of God. It suggests what God embodies. He is LOVE. God is
merciful, he is kind, he is compassionate, but he is not just loving but he is love. The former

describes Him; (His acts) but the latter defines Him (His ways).. II Corinthians 13, shows us
God's character even in this condition of the church. Here we find him taking no account of our
wrongs, not rejoicing in our evil. In order for God to win His church back, He sent the law and
the prophets.
Eliezer of Damascus the Chief servant of Abraham is a type and shadow of the law and the
prophets. For it was this same Eliezer that Abraham sent to get for his son a wife. He was given
the mandate to make advances, to allure Rebecca (Genesis 15).
God spoke through the mouth of Hosea that He will allure His church and speak comfortably to
her as in the day of her youth and as in the day when she came up out of Egypt and He declares
I will betroth you unto me in faithfulness, and you shall know me (Hosea 2:14-20).
The law and the prophets only came to bring God's people back to fellowship,
Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified
by faith. But after that faith is come we are no longer under a schoolmaster (Galatians .
3:24-25).
To put an end to the whoredoms of His church, to restore the broken koinonia (intercourse) with
Himself.

For the spirit of harlotry has caused them to err Hosea declares (Hosea 4:11-12).

.But why do they err, because they have not known my ways declares the lord.(psalm 95:10) for
they lusted exceedingly in the wilderness and tempted God in the desert (Psalm 106:14).
How did God allure His church and how did He speak comfortably to her.
comfortably through the mouth of His prophets saying

He spoke

Come now let us reason together, though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as
snow (Isaiah 1:18).
I could imagine the Lord saying to an abused people, messed up and perhaps without hope as
far as the east from the west so have I taken your transgressions away from you (Psalms
103:12). He declares
I will remember your sins no more (Hebrews. 8:12).
Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: but thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the
pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back

(Isaiah 38:17).

What a vindication from the Lord. But all of this was so that He could win our heart. He
couldn't have loved us anyway without showing it by giving. So He took not just His only but
His last and His best. Selah (pause and think).
He so loved us that when He gave the law and the prophets they could not restore that broken
fellowship. So He gave His only begotten son (John 3:16). It might interest you to know that no
reference is made to the priest and kings in this divine proposal God makes to His church. The
priesthood was what God used to initiate every new order or move.
He used Kings to establish His counsel and prophets to deliver His people. So you will discover
that in Rev. 15b He says we have been made kings and priest not prophets even though he
releases the gift of the prophet for the work of the ministry but this not given to every
believer(1st Corinthians. 12:8-10). That is why the bible says to some is given, not all. But all
believers are made as kings and priest. Why?

Christ came in this office as a prophet and had delivered us from the power of darkness
and translated us into the kingdom of His dear son (Colossians 1:13). Christ was a king, a
prophet and a priest.
Christ was a king after the order of David, a Priest after the order of Melchisedek and a
Prophet after the order of Moses.
For God had promised that there shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit upon the throne of
Isreal (Acts 2:30)
Infact this was prophesied by the Prophet Isaiah:
And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his
roots (Isaiah 11:1)
This is why Jesus is referred to as the Lion of the tribe of Judah and the root of David
(Revelations. 5:5).

He was called the son of David by the man who was blind (Blind

Bartimaeus). So we see Christ sitting as a King in heaven and as the son of David. Hes a Priest
after the order of Mechisedek as we read in Hebrews 5:10 and a Prophet after the order of
Moses
This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Isreal A prophet shall the Lord Your God
raise up unto you of your brethren LIKE UNTO ME; him shall you hear (Acts 7:37)

But since He's the king of kings and the great high-priest (Hebrews 4:14) we therefore
being now kings unto God are Kings to establish His counsel, that's why the bible says where the
word of a king is, there's power and who shall say unto him what doest thou; we are to enforce
what he secured: healing, deliverance and Salvation.
This is because the counsel of the Lord standeth sure and His thoughts through all generation
(Psalm 33:11). Now as kings, we declare the decree (Psalm 2:7), for kings rule by decrees. But
the decree's that we declare are the decrees of the king of kings: He's king over us who also are
kings and it is steadfast.
The king has the anointing for intervention; the priest has the anointing for intercession. Oh that
the church of God may know this. Since Christ has become the high-Priest and not us as highpriest, we are now to God Priest so that as we offer sacrifices of praise, the fruit of our lips
giving Him thanks (Hebrews 13:15), we will hear from the Lord and deliver to His people. For
this is the duty of the priest.
Back to the entreaties of God. So the Lord gave what seems to be His last offer. But
what would have happened if Rebecca who is a type and shadow of the church turned down the
offer to be betrothed to Isaac a type of Christ. The Lord declares He that comes unto me I will in
no wise cast out. Christ beckons on us saying
come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28)
Now with all sense of urgency, must we do the Lords bidding. For He says all things are
now ready (Matthew 22:4b). It is time for Him to declare His thoughts to wards us.

CHAPTER 2
SAY I DO
What is it about God's proposal?

It is not just a declaration of intent but also a

manifestation of purpose. It is the thought and imagination that engages the everlasting father
who now has a fore-thought of what He intends for His son and His espoused bride.
This is the reason we don't see the manifestation of Gods power in the church, because
we must understand Gods purpose to release his power.
Now that He's called us into His banqueting hall and His banner over us is love (Songs of
Solomon 2:4), to pry into the mind of the sovereign Father by the spirit of wisdom and
revelation, is worthy of all acceptation. What are the promptings and heart-throbs of the one
who works all things according to the counsel of His will.
It is enthralling to know what Paul meant when he wrote to the Romans (Romans. 8:2930)
For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His son, that He
might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also
called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.
We discover God's choice to first love us. For the prefix fore means before and the
pre means before. So God before the foundations of the world at one sitting knew us and
destined us before anything ever began or was created. He had His church in mind.

But in mind for what? To be justified and glorified (Romans. 8:29-30). He had and still has the
master plan. It becomes clear without any contradiction that God had an intent and purpose for
His espoused bride His church. What was it?
This glorious plan is unfolded in Ephesians 3:10
To the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the
principalities and powers in the heavenly places.
God's intent for His espoused bride is that every time people see His children and see His church,
they would doubtlessly see the many-sided wisdom of God not just in the demonstration of
power which is essential, but in the manifestation of holiness and godliness.
God intends that His church will put to flight the armies of the enemy, conquer every foe and
defeat the adversary. Sicknesses and disease been made subject to us his church.
The next verse of scripture says which He purposed in Christ..

The monarch of the

universe had an eternal purpose for His church and that purpose could only be fulfilled in His
son whom He now espouses a bride to in the spirit of purpose. The scriptures declares that:
for this purpose the son of God was manifested that He might destroy the work of the devil
(1st John3:8).
Now we have a clearer grasp why God in His sovereignty decided to use His church through His
son to confound the wisdom of the World. It is such a divine arrangement that when the
bridegroom departs from his espoused wife; the wife which is the church will still be able to take
charge on this side of time. Hence Christ declares in Ephesians. 1:22

And He has put all things under his feet and He gave Him to be head over all things to the
church which is His body

(Ephesians. 1:22).

Ephesians. 5:23 says that the husband is the head of the wife so if Christ is the head of the
church (Col. 1:18), then God intends that having called us to fellowship (Koinonia) with His dear
son, where the Greek translates the word fellowship, to mean intercourse, we would by koinonia
partake of His divine nature. How? By an agricultural term called propagation. To propagate
means to cause to multiply or continue by generation, to cause to spread or extend, to diffuse, to
transmit, and to spread from one person to person.
One means of propagation is by cutting and engraftment or by seeds. So we gain understanding
of what Jesus wanted us to see when He said
I am the vine and ye are the branches (John 15:1-6).
There's a transmission, an extension, and diffusion from Christ to us. There is some supply that
leaves Christ to us causing us to have his ability in our disability, sufficiency in our insufficiency.
Praise God we are engrafted and we have koinonia we become as He is in this world.
For as He is so we are in this world (1st John 4:17).
Not in the world to come but in this world. This is because if the root is holy, so are the
branches (Rom.11:16). This process of engraftment explains why the scripture declares that he
that is JOINED to the Lord is one spirit with Him ( 1st Corinthians 6:17).
When a plant is engrafted, the engrafted part is cut from another. So for this purpose shall a man
leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife (Matthew 19:5). Notice the process; there's a
separation, a cutting and then a joining.

And then the bible says the two shall become one. Once the branch that is cut though wild in
nature is engrafted (Romans 11:23-24), it becomes one with the vine.
Hence we have a revelation of what Paul meant when he said The Lord shall supply all my
needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philipians 4:19).
Two things are important here, the supply and the need. The church has the need, Christ gives
the supply and just as a woman has basic needs that she craves for particularly such as social
needs, psychological needs, economic needs and most importantly emotional needs to be
satisfied by her husband.
So the church (the bride) having been engrafted into the vine gets her supply of needs met by
Christ who is the husband. If she needs wisdom to life's conflicts it should be from Christ, if she
needs strength to go through the odds of life, it should be from Christ
For Christ is made unto us wisdom, justification, righteousness (1 Corinthians 1:30).
That's why Paul writes saying
The lord will comfort us that with the comfort he comforts us we also may be able to comfort
others (2Corinthians 1:4).
Again he writes in this wise saying
We are not sufficient on our own but our sufficiency is of God

(2 Corinthians 3:5).

So this is God's intent that through this graphic order, the church will not receive counsel from
the world but will give counsel to the world. God intends that we who are His church and

members in particular, should hold forth the word of life (Philipians 2:16). That when darkness
covers the land and gross darkness the people, we would arise and shine (Isaiah 60:1-4).
For we are the light of the world and the salt of the earth. As light, the bible says that light doth
make manifest (Ephesians 5:13). So we are pace- setter and trail blazers. When the world sits in
darkness and gropes in it and can't find their way, we beckon on them and say I am the light
come over and let me show you the way.
The political systems won't get better, the economies of the world won't get better either, but
what matters is not our condition of living but about our position of living. For as long as the
branch remains connected, that is, keeps it's position there would always be supply unlimited.
Bless God for His glory shall be seen upon us.
For we with an open face as beholding in a glass the image of the Lord we are changed from
glory to glory.

(II Corinthians. 3:18).

To behold a man is to see him intently face to face. This is koinonia. The church, the bride of
Christ cannot be beggarly or oppressed.
When the world looks at us they see Christ in holiness and in prosperity the world infact must
not only look at us as role models, but they must look on us as real models, not only as examples
but also as samples. Peter and John told the man at the beautiful gate look on us (Acts 3:4).
This is like a type of the Church and the world.
The world is helpless and hopeless, seeking to stop the wars, hunger, poverty, immorality,
corruption e.t.c. They are crippled. For this signifies their helplessness. But Peter the one who

provoked Jesus' declaration upon this rock I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not
prevail against it, is a type of the church who must say to the world you might be helpless but
look on us. We can bring you out of your crippled state. You can walk again, you can run
again.
For the earnest expectation of the creation (the man at the gate) eagerly waits for the revealing
of the sons of God (Peter and John) for the creation (the man at the beautiful gate) was subjected
to futility, not willingly but because of him who subjected it in hope, because the creation it's self
also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of
God. (Romans 8: 19-21).
To all intent and purpose, this is the mind of the everlasting father who betrothed his church to
His son. So that we who were once not a people can now become the people of God, who were
without mercy but now have obtained mercy (1st Peter 2:10).
How important it is for the church of God to know that it cannot live beyond the size of
her revelation. For we can only have elevation from the worlds standards by the revelation of
Christ.
Necessity is laid on us to ask the Lord often for the spirit of wisdom and revelation that
we may know (Koinonia; Intercourse) Him better (Colossians 1:9), looking unto Jesus the author
and the finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). This is love, this is trust, this is confidence and
dependence on God. The more we become dependent on God the more we gain independence
from the world.
CHAPTER 3

FOR BETTER; FOREVER

Why is God so grieved that His wife is sleeping with another man. In many parts of the world it
is an act of unfaithfulness for a woman to two-time or double date. Worse still if she is married
and caught in the act she's either ostracized or pays dearly for it. By the Law of Moses she is
worthy of death. If you would for a minute pause and think how you would feel if the woman
you so loved and gave all she ever asked for even at your detriment or peril, still sleeps with
another man.
By the help of the spirit of God I came to the understanding that the only time God ever
introduced Himself as a Jealous God was when He had to address the issue of idolatry. It is in
connection with this that Paul writes saying
For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy for I have espoused you to one husband
that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ (2Corinthians 11:27).
For the Lords glory, He will not share with any man, nor His praise with any graven
image (Isaiah 42:8).
Little wonder the psalmist talks about this saying that they provoked God to jealousy
with their graven images. Jewish writers and bible commentaries will let us know that in the
Hebrew culture once a woman is espoused to a man they are considered married.
So Jesus was not born out of wedlock for those who think so. Just like Eliezer of
Damascus brought Rebecca to Isaac, thus has the Lord also brought his bride (the Church) in
union with Christ. The occasion is solemn, the vows are sacred it's a noble call; it's a royal
blend.

You could figure out the joy that cascaded the heart of Isaac when he lifted up his eyes
and saw Rebecca. The bible says in Genesis 24:67 that Isaac took Rebecca into his mothers tent,
this is a type (the mothers tent) of the banqueting hall that Solomon writes about and declared
that his banner over us is love. So the bible says Rebecca became his wife and he loved her.
This is a type and shadow of Christ and His church.
When Paul was writing he said,
Husbands love your wives even as Christ also loved the church

(Ephesian. 5:25).

It was such a noble purpose that Abraham declared when he said Lord what will you give me
seeing that I go childless (Genesis 15:2). This gives us a clue why a man takes a wife and why
God took for his son Christ a bride which is his church to the intent that we would have sons,
Godly seeds:
For it became him for whom are all things and by whom are all things in bringing many sons
unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect thru sufferings. (Hebrews 2:10)
And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he
might seek a godly seed. (Malachi. 2:15)
There are a few things that Christ adorns His wife with. First we must understand the place of
the promise. For Christ has declared to His church He will never leave her nor forsake her
(Hebrews 13:5).
So that in those times when she would be going through the fire and passing through the
storms, she might remember this promise. Christ has promised to His bride that whatsoever she

shall ask in His name, He will do it, (John 14:14) so that when she becomes needy and in want,
she would remember the willingness of the bridegroom (Christ) to answer and meet her needs.
For the scripture declares that a man who cannot fend for his household is worse than an infidel.
But loving Jesus cannot be in this position. For Christ has all it takes to keep his bride both now
and forever. But so that His bride, His wife, will have confidence, He makes Himself known as
one who is not slack concerning His promises (II Peter. 3:9). The promises are His vows, his
covenant with us; His marriage vows to us His church.
Speaking about His promise epistemological thoughts reveals that to make a promise and not
have the intention to fulfill it is an act of insincerity. To make a promise and not have the ability
to fulfill it is absurd. To make a promise and do less or otherwise is to make the promise null and
void. So the validity of every promise is backed by the intension, the willingness and the ability
of the one who makes the promise. That's why the scripture, in order for us to know that God is
able, declares that;
He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that we ask or think, according to the power
that works in us (Ephesians. 3:20).
That we may know he has the intension to fulfill his promise, the scripture declares;
Faithful is He that calleth you who also will do it. (1st Thessalonians 5:24).
That we might may know that he wont do less, the scripture says that:
The promises of God are yea and amen in Christ Jesus.
Therefore to show us the intensity and magnitude of His love Paul writes

what shall separate us from the love of God......

(Romans 8:30-35).

This is not about our love for God, but the love of God for us. What glad tidings to know
that we are inseparable from Gods Love. This is God loving us unconditionally. And as if this
is not enough Christ also gives to His bride His signet. The signet is a seal to show authorization
of a transaction or documents. This seal is the earnest of His spirit (II Corinthians. 1:22). In
those days of the patriarch once the king gave his signet, he actually delegates his authority.
So Christ speaks kindly to His bride the church saying you are my possession now, I have
a part in you and you have a part in me we have become part-takers, heirs and joint-heirs.. All
you have shall be mine and all I have shall be yours, I will represent you and you will represent
me.
For we are heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ(Romans 8:17).
By which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises that through
these you maybe partakers of his divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world
through lust (II Peter 1:4).
It is when we come into oneness with God that we get the fullness of God. When the two
becomes one, the two share in the same nature.
In Him we live, we move and we have our being (Acts 17:28).

And because the bridegroom must needless go, so that He can fulfill the promise of the spirit to
us his church of which we are His flesh and bone and members in particular (I Corinthians
12:27), He declares to His bride occupy till I come (Luke 19:13). This concludes the first

phase of redemption that is why the scripture says the holy Ghost has been given to us as a down
payment until the redemption of the purchased possession (Ephesians. 1:4). There's also more to
what the bridegroom puts in place for the bride. In Isaiah 6:10, it speaks of the garments of
salvation and robe of righteousness. This too is significant.
The Lord has put His robe of righteousness on us for we are now the righteousness of God in
Christ Jesus (2ndCorinthians 5:21). Christ has become our righteousness. Now, we are justified
freely. White conceptualizes righteousness. This is symbolic of our right standing with God that
we can now stand holy, blameless and without reproach in the sight of God (Ephesians 1:4).
Being in this position, we can come like Esther and make intercession on behalf of anyone and
once we appear been clothe with this robe and garment, GOD stretches forth his golden scepter
and says to us ask what you will and it shall be given,
if you shall ask anything in my name I will do it (John 14:14).
Oh what a privilege that the scepter of his kingdom is the right scepter. In Zechariah 3:1-5 we
find a type of the church Joshua putting on filthy garments and Satan accusing him. Remember
that the bible calls him the accuser of the brethren. But the bible says he no more accuses us
before God because the accuser of the brethren is cast down (Revelations. 12:10).
Because they overcame him by the blood of the lamb and by the word of their testimony. So
when Jesus shed His blood He cleansed us from all our sins and iniquities as Joshua was in the
scripture we just considered. God's two fold plan of justification and sanctification is here
unfolded. This is better appreciated in the scenario unveiled to us in Zachariah 3:2-3 where the
devil brings railing accusations against us (Joshua).

But God commended his love towards us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us;
the just for the unjust.

(Romans 5:8)

For whom he did predestine, he also called and whom he called, they he also justified.
(Romans 8:35-37).
While the devil yet accused us, the Lord says the Lord rebuke thee Satan We are guilty as
charged but discharged and acquainted, Loosed to be used. For if God be for us who can be
against us.
Now you will notice in vs. 33-34 that the scripture puts forth a question who shall lay anything to
the charge of Gods Elect, it is God that justifies. Having justified us he declared us vessels of
mercy (Romans 9:23-24) The scripture says Even us. Now the first phase of God's plan is
completed.
But God will not stop at that. He has now given us his Holy Spirit and declare to us be holy even
as I am holy! Why the Holy Spirit is in us and God has cleansed us from every filthiness of the
flesh and of the spirit (2 Corinthians 7:1). This is where the second phase plan of God unfolds,
sanctification. So when the Holy Ghost starts working in us both to will and to do of his good
pleasure (Philipians 2:13) then we can be presented to Christ as a chaste virgin.
God declared in Isaiah
come now let us reason together though your sins be as scarlet they shall be as white as snow;
Though they be red like crimson they shall be as wool.

(Isaiah 1:18)

The scarlet robe is typical of the prostitute and the white robe represents the chaste virgin. It
was the robe that Rahab the harlot had (Joshua. 2:15, 18).

But though we were once in trespasses, He has made us white as snow. He has put on us a rich
apparel. It is by this that Christ identifies His church. For the scripture declares that He's
coming for a church without spot nor wrinkle.
Our garment must be unspotted with compromise and corruption. Sin must not leave a crimson
stain. To this end it is written
let your garments always be white and let not your head lack ointment

(Ecclesiastics .9:8).

It is saddening that the bride of Christ now has an identity problem. We're lost in the
crowd. Christ can't figure out why His bride has made decisions based on the ideals of the
world.
Now even the things that the gentiles seek have become our priorities. The order is
dysfunctional; for the Lord Jesus has told His bride seek ye first the kingdom of God and his
righteousness and every other thing shall be added unto you (Matthew 6:33).
Shared affection can't lead to perfection. Divided attention will hinder retention. That every
member of the body of Christ may know his or her double mindedness, the Lord sets out the
apparatus to measure our faithfulness; if you love me keep my commandments. But the
backslider in heart is filled with his own ways (Proverbs 14:14). Sadly, we also have set up idols
in our heart (Ezekiel 14:4).
Where the idol is now anything that has taken the place of God in our heart. The
transgression for which the Lord frowns at. So the scriptures cautions us saying
Little children keep yourself from idols ( 1 John 5:21).

The question is what has taken the place of God in our hearts. Are we filled with God or
filled with goods. Caution is what the Lord gives to us that he that puts his hands on the plow
and looks back is not fit for the kingdom of God. With the colossal investment the Lord has
made on our lives, and all He did on Calvary, despising shame, mocked, spat upon, pierced on
his side, beaten with the Roman stripes just to win our heart, we still set our affection on
something else.
For where our treasure is there our heart will be also (Matthews 6:21). How painful it is for the
bridegroom to watch His bride sleep with another man.
God never expects us to look back nor be stagnant. He's progressive in His dealings with us so
He doesn't expect us to leave Egypt and still wish to go back to Egypt. Because for us to arrive
we must advance. God frowns at Lot's wife attitude when she looked back. God knows we may
stumble but He doesn't expect us to fumble or grumble because the bible says:
Though the righteous man falls he will not be utterly cast down for God upholds him (Psalm
37:24).
CHAPTER
TAKE THE TOAST
This is not so much of the Royal treat that God in his benevolence lavishes on his bride.
For what we shall find in this great feast of the lamb, is the extravagance, pomp and pageantry of
the God who gives liberally to all men and upbraids not (James 1:5). There and then shall we
appreciate better what God meant when he FREELY GIVES us all things to Enjoy.(1st
Corinthians 2:12), to value his words which he spoke to us that if he gave up Jesus his son how

will he not also freely give us all things(Romans 8:32). The word freely is the Greek word that
translates to mean gratuitously i.e giving regardless of who is involved and what is involved.
Take note of the words who and what.
This is nothing less than the feast of the bridegroom. This is Christ in the mood of
conviviality with anticipations to the Nuptial ties. This is what the Preacher alludes to when he
declares in Songs of Solomon 2:4,
He has called us into his banqueting hall his banner over us in love.
But significant to this divine thought is the parable of the ten (10) virgins in Matthew 25:1-13.
Notice that Jesus calls men virgins. Yes virgins! This speaks of their chastity, the concept that
Paul speaks about in (2Corinthians 11:2). The chastity of the bride refers to virginity i.e.
unspotted, without blemishes. Let us hold steadfast in our hearts that God is coming for a church
without spots or wrinkles (Ephesians 5:27).
The obvious question is if a virgin why still a bride. Without any contradiction and
worthy of all acceptation, is the fact that the bride of Christ is his wife and though his wife but
still a virgin. It is in the Hebrew culture that once a down payment is made for a bride the bride
is considered espoused to the bridegroom until full redemption is made.
This is the Hebrew concept elucidated in Jacobs's ordeals to marry Rachael so that he had
to labor for (14) fourteen years, the first seven years and the other seven years. This is also
significant because the number 7 exemplifies completion. Note that by allusion the Holy Ghost
was given to us as a down payment, a fulfillment of the first seven years of our redemption plan
(Ephesians 1:14). But in the day of the voice of the seventh angel (Revelation 10:7), which also

signifies the other seven years, Christ will be here for the full redemption of our bodies, then
shall our redemption be complete like Jacob and Rachael.
But why did Jesus call five (5) of those virgins foolish? They didn't do what they ought
to do when they ought to do it. They all had lamps and that they had lamps meant that they had
fire in their lamps. The scripture says
This is the light that lighted everyone that comes into the world. (John 1:9)
The light signifies the Holy Ghost; they were born again and had the Holy Ghost. But
remember that in the scripture the priest had a duty to trim the lamps and pour oil in the lamps
before the fire goes out. The lamp stands were seven and this represents the seven spirits of God
i.e. the spirit of counsel, wisdom, knowledge, might. (Isaiah 11:2).
The oil was needed to keep the lamps burning
(Exodus 27:20; Leviticus 24:1). It was given as a statute for the Priests (Aaron and his sons) to
trim the lamps. We also have been made unto God as Kings and Priests so it's our duty to trim
the lamps. So that we do not quench the spirit of God (1 Thessalonians 5;19 ) before the feast
begins.
The Holy Ghost is the light if it were not so the scriptures will not say: Quench Not (1
Thessalonians 5:17)
It's a light, it's a flame, it is fire. For we now have this treasure in earthen vessels i.e. the
holy ghost. So the foolish virgins said give us of your oil for our lamps are gone out (vs 8) it's
dangerous to run this race on reserve or on someone else's revelation We must all know
God (Koinonia) for ourselves.

Information void of inspiration to make it a revelation may not produce comprehensive

manifestation. Every one needs oil in his lamp. We must consciously examine ourselves to
know if we have slumbered and slept. Slumbering is a state of insensitivity, not been alert to the
things of the spirit. It is a state of the natural man.
For this man cannot understand the things of the spirit for they are spiritually discerned.
(2Corintians 2:14),
They are foolishness to him. But the Lord says to his bride Awake thou that sleepest
and the Lord shall give thee light (Ephesians 5:14 ) can you understand that? When God says
awake, He means be spiritual for only then you can discern to have understanding of the times
like the sons of Isaachar. That by this we may now know what we ought to do. That is, to savour
the things that are of God and not of men.
This was why Christ's rebuked Simon Peter when he said get thee behind me devil for
thou savours the things that be of men and not the things that be of God (Matthew 16: 23). If
we must enter the marriage feast we must earnestly desire oil in our lamps else the fire goes out.
That in protest we will not say Lord open to us.
That we may eat of the abundance of His house and drink of the streams of His pleasure. The
marriage feast of the bridegroom is not valued so much for it's celebration but for the invitation,
not for the congregation but for the preparation.

We need divine empowering, that's the

significance of the oil. The oil is the ability of the lamps to burn and not wear out. Many times
we busy ourselves with too many things trying to work for the Lord instead of working with him.
This is one of the devils devices to wear us out (burn-outs) until what we have is just flickers of
fire. But that bride of Christ may cry out don't let my fire go down.

CHAPTER 5
STRANGE BED FELLOWS
It was not a mere declaration but an outcry of the bridegroom to announce that his bride is
sleeping with another man. Everybody is naturally permitted to have one head. It is abnormal to
have two heads on one body. So when the bible declares that Christ is the head of the body
which is the church (Colossians 1:18), it obviously suggests that non-else, should be the head of
the church The scripture declares that a man not been able to provide for his house is worse than
a infidel and Christ as the head of the church is the husband of the church and cannot in any
manner or way unmistakingly fall into this category. That's why the body yet fitted together
receives supply from the head.
For Christ who is the head of the church is able to make ALL GRACE abound towards us that
we having ALL sufficiently in all things

(2 Corinthians 9:8).

Again the bible says that we are his body and members in particular. Then it says in Corinthians
6:15-20:
know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you , whom you have
from God, and you are not your own (1 Corinthians 6:19)
Know ye not that your bodies are members of Christ?
Shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of a harlot? God forbid.
(1 Corinthians 6:15)

It is exciting as much as challenging to know what God forbids. Everyone of us is a

member of the body of Christ. And once we begin to give ourselves over to base things however
they may be, we are caught in the act of harlotry.
If only we could sometimes pause and wonder how the Lord feels about the things we do,
about the things our hearts throbs for, oh what manner of persons we would be. The two says
vs.16, shall become one. But the bride can be one with the bridegroom only in communion.
And to have communion is to come into union with the one with whom you share some
things in common. But the bride of Christ has tried to sustain communication but has lost
communion; we are still in relationship but out of Fellowship.
Struggle to go through the religious routines of church services where attendance has
taken the place of impartation.
We must indeed understand what koinonia is. Why was God angry with Onan Judah's
second born (Genesis. 38:8-9). All through scriptures we discover that the mystery of the seed is
so that a generation can come out of it (Malachi 2:15).
Not just a generation but descendant. The word descendant is derived from the word
descent, which means birth or pedigree. This suggest a generation who will carry the DNA of
the seed. Now get the picture! Onan refused to impart his seed into Tamar because he knew
that the descendant will not be his. So he spilled it on the ground. He killed the fruit of the seed.
This is a graphic picture of koinonia (intercourse) fellowship that we should have with God. For
what the Lord wants to do is to impart into us His very nature so that we can bear fruits.

Until we come in contact, we cannot be in Contract. This is the principle of covenant and
it's very significant. For until we come in contact with Christ we cannot be in contract with him.
A graphic illustration is the woman with the issue of blood. The bible says she said in her
heart if I can touch.. that is contact and remember that when she touched the hem of his garment,
Jesus said who touched me? And he remarked for virtue has gone out of me.
Can you see that. But what about the crowd that was around Jesus, where there not sick
people who needed healing? They only felt him they couldn't touch him therefore it is true and
verily that

our sense of value will determine our flow of virtue, what we respect is what we

attract.
What defines our relationship with God? Ours must be something permanent and
something perfect, and this can be nothing less than love: for love is perfect and love is
permanent. That we may boldly declare we love him because he first loved us. This is the
highest declaration of love. When we now have a flow of virtue from Christ to us then the
church can now be referred to as the virtuous woman whose price is far above rubies (Proverbs.
31:10) because the virtues of Christ are now in us.
Don't forget that we're his bride. And until and unless we release ourselves to him in
worship (koinonia), we can't bear the fruit of righteousness, holiness, power et al. How painful it
is for Christ the bridegroom to watch the church his bride sleeping with another man. How does
he know. He looks and discovers we are singing but our hearts are fixed on something else. He
looks and discovers that our quite time is desolate.
He looks and beholds many dance and clap their hands but have idols in their hearts. He
looks and beholds he finds himself on our list of priorities as miscellaneous. Doing what is right

but not with a perfect heart i.e a heart totally given to the purpose of God., singing a worship
song but our senses are distracted, preaching the message but not living like the message,
seeking the power but not looking for the power source, cleaning Gods house not because we
feel the burden of our fathers house been kept clean but because we have to mark the attendance
and be in the good books, attracted to God yet distracted from him.
What zeal has consumed us? What zeal? Is it the zeal of our fathers' house? What a
heartbreak! That He who is supposed to have the pre-eminence (THE FIRST PLACE) in ALL
THINGS is now last in all things. But they that must worship God must worship him in spirit
and in truth. For such does the father seek.
Even in the beginning when He placed Adam and Eve in the Garden,

He

would

come at the cool of the day to have fellowship with them. The bible says they were naked but
not ashamed (Genesis 2:25). What great offer to walk with the Lord naked. Hiding nothing
from him even though he knows.
To be open, spirit, soul and body to the Lord, to mind the things we use our body for, to
be wary of the things we apply our spirit to, is needful. But when the Lord came to the garden he
quizzed and said to Adam WHERE ART THOU Every now and again we find ourselves
double minded. Going back and forth. We have wearied ourselves with many things like Martha
but Jesus says only one thing is NEEDFUL. That we are mindful of many things does not make
them needful. And so Jesus said that Mary had chosen the better part. (Luke 10:42) Why? She
was having koinonia with the father. She was the one out of whom demons were casted out. A
harlot.

But she found Jesus as Lord and Lover. As a Husband to her. As her source and
sustainer. She knew that no one could satisfy her but Jesus.
And she had an understanding that He deserves nothing but the best. So she brought her
alabaster box.

Because of our affection for many lovers we have soiled our garments of

righteousness.
So every time we come to embrace the Lord not in communion but in communication.
He sees the scarlet robe and declares my wife is sleeping with another man. When He
discovers the fruits that we bear He knows of a surety that those fruits don't look like Him. So he
screams my wife is sleeping with another man! But He wonders in His heart what fellowship
has righteousness with unrighteousness? What partnership has light with darkness? (II
Corinthians 6:4-16). This becomes the dilemma of God.
Apostle Paul in his epistle to the Ephesians writes of the mystery of Christ and His
church, He makes a significant recommendation saying Therefore as the church is subject unto
Christ, so let the wives be subject to their own husbands in everything (Ephesians 5:24-29).
By so much we see Christ trying to win and keep the heart of His bride on Him.
But instead of submitting to Him in all things we give Him some things. That we may
empty ourselves to have His fullness (koinonia) and become pregnant with the fruits of
righteousness.
Many times when we read that scripture that says They that must worship God, must
worship Him in Spirit and truth (John 4:24), we think in terms of singing a worship song but not
so.

It is a consistent and continuous lifestyle of total surrender and submission to the Lord.
Where we can cry and say nevertheless, lord not my will but thine.
There's someone reading this book right now God is saying to you, you are cheating on
me even after all I did for you. But He speaks to you that He is love and takes no account of
your wrong if you make amends. Oh that the church of God would realize that nothing should
take the place of communion with God.
Beyond the ceremonious activities that we find today, beyond the craze for religions titles
and power and the lustful desire that has initiated political maneuvers we must not seek to make
a name for ourselves or build fame in our name. This is seduction exposed;
For a man is tempted when he is drawn of his own lust, and lust when it is conceived(James
1: 14)
This is seduction exposed to walk in the error of Balaam who for wages sought to curse
Gods people but God forbade his madness, to walk in the greed of Gehazi (is it time to receive
gifts)?
This is seduction exposed to sit at the gate like Absalom and give counsel out of
ambition because we seek the throne; this is seduction exposed to bring back the fattest calves
for sacrifice and listen to the voice of the people like Saul. Little children the scripture declares
keep yourself from idols.
This is the lords controversy with his people: they have set up IDOLS in their heart and
God says I will answer them according to the multitude of idols in their heart (Ezekiel 14:1-3).

God is seeking for people who understand the weightier matters of having communion
with him, praying, fasting, studying the word until Christ be formed in them. And if God is
seeking it, it suggests that we are out of order.
If God says return to me that means we have turned away from him that's why we must re-turn.
The scripture is replete with this call to return (Isaiah 44:22), that's why the prodigal son said I
will return (Luke 15:18). Why? His misconception led to his misdirection and his misdirection
prompted a redirection and he came to himself and said I must return. This is what God is asking
us to do just to return. The Lord is saying to His church,
kiss the son lest He be angry with you (Psalms2:12).
To some this could be a kiss of forgiveness such as the father gave the prodigal son (Luke
15:20). The kisses of a fond one but not a loved one as was Judas (Matt 26:49), nor on the feet
as was Mary's (Luke 7:38, 45) but the kiss of the mouth that the Shulamite woman longed for
(Songs of Solomon 1:2).
Truth is that no one can kiss two persons at the same time. This is true affection for it is
an expression for personal person relationship and intimacy we have often mistaken affinity for
intimacy until affection brings us to perfection, until closeness brings us to Revelation of the one
to whom we are close, there is no intimacy. But we have given the kiss of idolatry (1 Kings
19:18).
This is indeed the spirit of harlotry. Our prime purpose is to have relationship with him.
Intimacy with the Lord is the essence of our design in creation and the highest purpose in the
restoration of all things. That's why the scripture says let him that glorieth, glorieth in this that he
KNOWS and UNDERSTANDS me (Jeremiah 9; 24).

This leaves us with one prayer; teach me your ways and show me your paths lord. To walk
with God in the cool of the evening is still our foremost aspiration; free from attractive
distractions.
God had a problem with Israel; it was that they soon forget the works of God (Psalm
78:11). Once in this condition, it is a backslidden state, for the backslider in heart is full of his
ways (Proverbs 14;14).
Our lust will make us lost at some cost and send us to a Far country. But until we come
to ourselves and say I must return we cannot get back to our inheritance, try as we may.
However as we prepare for the marriage supper of the lamb and having in mind that the
bridegroom intends to present a glorious church not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing but
that it should be holy and without blemish, He leaves us with a question:
Will He find faith on earth when He comes? Luke 18:8) or
Will He meet His wife sleeping with another man? (Hosea3:3b)
