GT Sectra was originally designed for

the German-language magazine
Reportagen, a bi-monthly publication
specializing in literary reporting.
Its long-form stories require a typeface that works well in text, but not
at the expense of character. GT Sectra
strikes that balance.

Overall
The very low contrast between thick and thin

strokes makes GT Sectra a pragmatic workhorse.
It spots large ink traps and a very balanced, even
color, making it work great for long texts despite
its strong character.
Compared to GT Sectra, GT Sectra Fine is a bit

more sparkly and delicate, with a higher contrast
between thick and thin strokes, similar to classic
serif typefaces.
GT Sectra Display has a much higher contrast,

and it contains two weights not found in the
other subfamilies. The 90 angles of the serifs
enable tight typesetting for punchy headlines.
