ENGLISH LANGUAGE PANEL

INTRODUCTION

The English panel of SK Seri Bintang Selatan, aspires to enhance and to promote the English Language as a tool
which is utilized at an absolute level throughout the school. It is also hoped to be used confidently amongst pupils
and also teachers in the school. We wish that this language in not regarded as a medium which is totally alienated
and pupils use the language as a stepping stone to succeed in any examinations. The main role of the English
Language learning is a very important tool for communication in our livelihood.
RATIONALE
The plan to upgrade the performances of the English Language is a crucial effort done by the English educators in
the school specifically and by the school administration generally. It aims to help boost up the excellencies in the
performance in the UPSR examination results for the year 2013 and thus we try to further enhance or sustain this
excellencies in ahead.

perceived to be too complicated or difficult to be acquired by some individuals.

To be able to listen and understand simple English Language in a certain given context.
To be able to state and respond appropriately in normal situations using simple English Language.
To be able to read and comprehend a variety of text for entertainment as well as knowledge.
To be able to write for a variety of purposes and forms using simple English Language.
To be able to promote and enhance the percentage of passes in the exams conducted by the school.
To be able to identify the source of weaknesses which arise in all aspects not only concerning the UPSR
performance but also for the exams in future.

WHAT IS IT ALL ABOUT?

a) Smart School coordinator
To ensure all smart school learning packages are properly arrange/stored/kept.
Keeping up dated list of all of the items.
Keeping up with the latest issue regarding Smart School.
Assisting English Teachers for in house training in relation with Smart School/learning matters.
b) Examination coordinator
Examine the questions and marking scheme for all the examinations.
Coordinate / monitor / supervise before, while and after examination.
Examine the TOS for semester 1 and 2 exams.
Handling in-house training particularly on UPSR marking scheme.
Updating the Question Bank from time to time.
c) English Panel file coordinator
Ensuring all the files is updated.
Preparing meeting minutes or other English programs.
Updating all the files in relation with English Panel.
d) Bulletin Board coordinator
Updating and organizing the bulletin board with the latest update weekly.
e) Yearly Syllabus coordinator
Preparing the yearly plan & English Syllabus before the school resumes.
f) UPSR Examination coordinator
To prepare questions and a proper marking scheme.
Documented all the UPSR English examination papers and selecting appropriate workbooks for the
students.
g) English Day/Week Activities Coordinators
To train and coach students when necessary.
To keep students informed and updated with the necessary information in relation with English Panel
throughout the year.
To prepare the students for performance/shows during official functions in school or outside the school.
Documented the activities done.
h) Self Access coordinator
To get the appropriate resource / materials for self access learning centre.
To collect and distribute aids for the SAC.

i) English Teaching Aids/Materials Inventory

To gather and label the teaching aids purchased by English Panel.
Updating English Panel stock book.
j) Extensive Reading and DEAR Programme
To prepare reading record/chart for students - individually or groups.
To supervise and keep track of students reading record.
To label and keep track of all literature books.
k) MBMMBI Coordinators
Assisting the teachers to carry out the activities and programme designed from time to time.
