Chapter 0: Prologue
Jealousy between siblings can make people do the unthinkable. Dumbledore
knew how much Petunia Dursley nee Evans had wanted to be a witch. He knew
Petunia had been jealous of Lily for having something that she did not have
Magic. He knew how much this had caused a rift between the Evans sisters. He
had known from both Lilys and Severus memories, Petunia considered wizards
as freaks with vehemence akin to witch hunters of the past. And in his long life,
he had seen many a times, how jealousy can change to hatred; such was the
capacity of human mind.
Dumbledore had counted on all this when he had left Harry Potter on the
doorsteps of Petunia home.

He had believed that by doing so, Petunia with her biased opinion on Magic,
would take it as an insult that she, a muggle, was not worthy of being informed
about her witch sisters death. She would resent them for this. And she would
take out her resentment on her nephew the one whose eyes were exactly same
as his mother Petunias hated sister Lily Evans. That this resentment would
later give rise to abuse emotional, physical and would make the boy
susceptible to him. All he would need then would be to show some morsels of
kindness here and there and his weapon would be under his absolute control. Oh,
he even had planned out the various tests for his weapon; it would not do for a
weapon that did not work when he needed it to.
But as the saying goes, a small hole at the bottom can sink a ship; and
Dumbledores plan-ship-thingy had many many holes. Dumbledore should not
have believed the words of Minerva McGonagall, his deputy Headmistress, that
the Dursley family were the worst sort of muggles. For all her wisdom, Minerva
was a Gryffindor they viewed the world only in monochrome. Whatever she did
not agree with, she believed it inappropriate. And for all her dealings with the
muggleborns, she had actually never seen the worst of muggles, the kind that
put humanity to shame.
But above all, Dumbledore should not have believed he knew everything about
Petunia. He did not know Petunia Evans, At All.
His only interaction with her had been the letter she had written to him,
requesting for admission to Hogwarts. And he had forgotten that both Lily and
Severus spent majority of their time at school, away from home. They had not
known what Petunia did when they were not there. And as evident from their
memories, when they were at home, they usually avoided Petunia.
For all his snooping around Lilys mind, Dumbledore had never cared to find why
Lily was so distressed with the strained relationship with her sister. Or else he
would have known that despite her acclaimed beauty and being the witch of the
family, Lily had always wanted to be like Petunia. Petunia was Lilys role model
and she had definitely deserved this status for she was one of her own kind.
Yes, Petunia Evans had wanted to be a witch. She may not have been able to go
to Hogwarts but from what she recalled from the meeting with the Deputy
Headmistress, Magick could be learnt without attending the school. And Petunia
knew from Lilys tales of her new friend, that there was another witch at
Spinners end.
Dumbledore would regret seeing his plan-ship-thingy for moulding his chosen
weapon fail, but by then, he would not be able to do anything.

Viewpoints
The story will have only three viewpoints the narrators, Petunias and Harrys.
Narrators viewpoint sections like the prologue for the story, or when events
have to be established from a third partys perspective. This viewpoint will
include actions from all other characters of the Harry Potter series, usually when
events of the Wizarding world are shown-when this viewpoint is being used a
scene from Petunias past should be presented in a drabble format relevant to
one of the events
Petunias viewpoint the major viewpoint of the story-will include events in
Dursley/Evans/Snape household- Petunias reaction to the events of Harrys life
when he is in Wizarding world
Harrys viewpoint the minor viewpoint of the story-will include reaction to
events/people- reactions should be based on something that Petunia taught
Harry-when this viewpoint is being used a scene from Petunias past should be
presented in a drabble format relevant to one of the events
Timelines
The story is divided into two timelines: the current timeline and the past. The
current timeline begins with Halloween attack; the past timeline begins with the
meeting of Lily and Severus from Petunias viewpoint.
Story breakdown
The story will be broken into multiple series: the first series would begin with
Harry being dropped at Petunias doorstep and would cover his up-bringing prior
to Hogwarts; the subsequent series would cover the subsequent Hogwarts years
until the culmination of story plot.
Series Breakdown
Each series should contain only 11 chapters individual lengths may vary.
The first series is about Harrys life prior to Hogwarts. This series will contain only
two viewpoints Narrators and Petunias viewpoint. Every story would begin
with one scene where the Narrator would narrate some events from Wizarding
world that would later affect Harrys life in Hogwarts. The next scenes would be
solely from Petunias viewpoint. The present timeline scenes would depict
Petunia readying Harry for his Wizarding life; the past timelines would include
scenes relevant to learning the same from Eileen and Petunias various trials to
learn it. Petunias viewpoint is the major viewpoint.
For the subsequent series, the story will contain three viewpoints Narrators,
Harrys and Petunias. When events are happening in Hogwarts, Harrys or

Narrators viewpoint will be used. Petunias viewpoint would cover mainly her
reaction to events occurring in Harrys life.

Plotting the plot
Introduction to the story: We are shown how Dumbledore had believed that by
leaving Harry with Petunia would ready Harry for his role as a Saviour; it is
implied though that Petunia is different from what he had perceived her to be;
thanks to Eileen Prince, she is a witch capable of raising Harry as he ought to be
Instance from the past: Professor McGonagalls meeting with Petunias Parents
as she tells them that their younger daughter is a witch and why she should be
studying at Hogwarts. Here she mentions that there are tutors available to teach
several magical subjects. However, since these tutors are usually lesser
Purebloods and are usually hired by Upper class Purebloods to teach the basics
of magical theory and Pureblood etiquette, they will not be willing to teach
Muggleborns. She also informs them that the option of home-schooling was
allowed by the Ministry only if a qualified person, i.e., someone who has at least
completed their OWLs, is available to teach the subject.
Chapter 1: The Turning Point
The beginning of beginning
Halloween 1981: Voldemort kills James and Lily; is vanquished by the Ancient
Magic that Lily had used when he tries to attack Harry; visits by Severus, Sirius
and Hagrid: Severus heals Harry and makes his vow to protect Harry forever on
the dead body of Lily; Sirius comes to find Severus and confronts him thinking he
wants to finish Voldemorts job; Severus apparates and Sirius rushes to Harry to
check him, makes Harry heir to the House of Black; journey to Privet Drive

Eileen Prince, the heiress to the prestigious Prince family The Potions Experts
since the ages of Merlin. Oh but she was nothing suitable for it; she was a near
squib. She had lost her heiress position when she had decided to marry a
mudblood or a Muggle as the new-age term was. While she was happy with her
decision to marry for better preservation of family magicks, she was not happy
with her choice of the man. The man was a drunkard and abusive to the extreme.
But she would take his abuse any day as long as it meant that his Severus was
never hurt. However, now that Severus had gone to Hogwarts, she found her
days to be very boring. Yes, she liked her life away from the pompousness that
was the British Wizarding society, but she still cherished her magick, loved her
