PD Agenda: Digging In to High Quality Work

February 6th, 2015

Guiding Question: How does our perception of high quality work shift when looking
at external examples?

BBK (Boxing Protocol)


Purpose: To introduce portfolio examples from credentialed schools
Common text- EL grounding document, including share criteria from QW
section of credentialing portfolio rubric (Katie); summary sheet
Choose one school and example to introduce and walk through together
Select a different piece from the website from same/another school
Short reflection on next steps and support needed to get there -What are the
planning and instructional implications? (keeping in mind expedition planning
day, next consult/dept. meeting to work on this, PD cycle)
Share expectations for what is brought for next QW protocol in May
Expedition Planning Day (2/13)--opportunity to embed HQW criteria in plans
for expedition final products, etc.
Work time- another consult/dept meeting (before March, if possible)
Use next PD cycle to make this work relevant/embedded (not just an
extra/added thing)
