research.
In the case of research scholars who have copied a dissertation / thesis / book for

other programme in this University.
For the abetment of above such action, the recognition of his / her supervisor shall be

Procedures followed in the school:
Sum-up of the methodology adopted for start of any new Course is as follows:
1. The Director of the school constitutes a committee to evaluate the possibility of
introducing new, relevant and viable programmes for which there is a market
demand. The committee shall consist of internal experts and the external
experts. Head of the Department shall be the Chairman of the Committee.
2. The Committee shall collect the feedback from all the stakeholders, analyze the
same and identify the need for introducing new subjects. The feedback collected
by the committee is scrutinized, summarized and submitted to the Director,
School of Computer Science and Technology.
3. The Director shall scrutinize the recommendations of the committee and make a
suitable proposal to the Vice Chancellor with full proposal for new programme.
4. The proposal includes the budget incorporating all requirements including
infrastructure and manpower for the introduction of new programme.
5. On receiving the Vice-Chancellors approval, the Director shall arrange for the
presentation of curriculum in the CDC meetings, Board of Studies and
Academic Council.

42. Does the department obtain feedback from

a) Faculty on curriculum as well as teaching-learning evaluation? If yes, how does the
department utilize the feedback?
Yes.
At the mid of every semester, feedback is collected from the Faculty members on
the subjects they are handling in that semester and the subjects handled during the
previous semester. The feedback form contains information about the topics to be
added, topics to be removed, any change needed in the prescribed text book or
reference book and other comments on the syllabus.
The feedbacks obtained are scrutinized carefully and the significant changes or the
recommendations are submitted to the Director of the School for approval. After the
approval of the Director, the issues are placed in the Curriculum Development Cell
of the school.
The feedback /issues placed in the CDC is discussed thoroughly and based on the
suggestions of the members, the recommendations of the CDC of the school shall
be sent to the Board of Studies.
b) Students on staff, curriculum and teaching-learning evaluation and how does the
department utilize the feedback?
Yes.
The online feedback is received from students and the consolidated report of the
feedback is submitted to the HOD of the department. By going through the
feedback, the HOD would discuss with the faculty member concerned one by one
for improvements.
During every semester the feedback of the students on the curriculum and the
syllabi of the subjects they have studied in the previous semester are obtained. The
feedback form contains information about the topics to be added, topics to be

utilize the feedback?
Yes.
The department obtains feedback from the Alumni of the Department on the
curriculum and the syllabi they have studied. This feedback is used to evaluate the
mapping of the Programme Educational Objectives and the Programme Outcome of
the course.
Feedbacks from the Employers of the alumni of the University are obtained and are
used to evaluate the caliber and the performance of the candidate. This feedback is
used to evaluate the mapping of the Programme Educational Objectives and the
Programme Outcome of the course.
The Department has two of the Eminent Alumni of the Department as the member
in the Board of Studies.

During 2009-2013 14 seminars, 11 workshops and 18 special lectures were
conducted (Appendix B-10).

Lecture method: Teaching through lectures by using black board as well as LCD
projectors.
Interactive method: Teaching through conducting debates on the topics related to
the subject handling.
Project based learning: Analyzing, designing, implementing and documenting
skills of the students are improved by assigning mini-projects, half semester projects
and full semester projects.
Computer assisted learning: Quizzes are conducted through LMS(Learning
Management System)
Experimental learning: The students are trained to do programming through lab
experiments.
Seminars: The students are encouraged to take Technical seminar which is used to
improve the presentation skills of the students.

46. How does the department ensure that programme objectives are constantly met and
learning outcomes are monitored?
The Department obtains feedback from the Alumni of the department and the
employers of the alumni of the University on the curriculum and the syllabi they have
studied and the caliber and the performance of the candidates respectively. This
feedback is used to evaluate the mapping of the Programme Educational Objectives and
the Programme Outcome of the course.

CDC, Board of studies, Academic council meet twice every year. Every year
curriculum and syllabi are looked at in detail and based on the necessity arising to make
the syllabi on par with the industry standards. The course feed backs are collected from
teaching staff, alumni, industrialist and academicians and incorporated in the
subsequent curriculum development exercises continuously. Course syllabi are
reviewed and recent developments in the subject areas are incorporated in the syllabi.
Recently published text books/reference books are used for preparing the syllabus.

Courses on soft skills, general aptitude and technical aptitude are taught to all
students.
Add on programs are conducted by the Department to equip the students with skills

Seminars and workshops are arranged to improve the technical skills of the students

Through the MoUs with Industries, Eminent Personalities from Industry are brought
to give hands on training on the technologies the Industries presently uses.

The department is successfully offering the certification course CCNA (Cisco

Certified Network Associate) to the students. The course is divided into four modules
as follows
1. Networking fundamentals
2. Routing protocols and concepts
3. LAN switching and wireless
4. Accessing the WAN
In order to conduct the modules by giving sufficient practical exposure, the laboratory
is equipped with hardwares like routers, switches, wireless adapter, cables and PC.
Packet tracer software is also installed in PC's to simulate the various network
configurations and give a better understanding to the students.

Technical and subject-wise quizzes are conducted through LMS for quality
assessment of the students
