How to create a scrolling banner

Custom HTML and scrolling components are great for getting attention and they give a “breaking news”
feel to the content. Use them on your home pages—or anywhere else where you want to draw attention to
your message. To create a scrolling banner, following these 7 steps:
1. Go to Setup > App Setup > Customize > Home > Home Page
Components. Click New. Abstract

2. In the Name field, enter a title. For Type, select HTML Area.

3. In the Edit Component section, check the Show HTML checkbox.

4. You can create either a short or long message by using the code below. Paste your code into the circled
area below. Then click Save.

5. Add the scrolling banner to your home page layout. Go to Setup >App Setup > Customize > Home >
Home Page > Layouts. Click on an existing layout or create a new one.

6. Select your scrolling home page banner.

7. Move the scrolling banner to the top and click Save.
