ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study is to develop a database system application related to sales,
purchasing and inventory system at Putra Indotama Label and to create applications that can
provide monthly reports of sales and purchases. The method used is to conduct field surveys
and study of existing literature, and design the conceptual, logical, and physical database
design. The results of this study is a conceptual, logical, and physical database design and the
implementations of the applications to support business operations. Conclusion, with this
database system aplication the process of sales, purchasing and inventory at the Putra
Indotama Label will be more effective and efficient and is expected to meet the business needs
of putra Indotama Label quickly and accurately.

1. Introduction
In the current era of globalization, technology and its development into a major
component in all areas. Today's increasingly rapid technological developments, especially in
the IT field. It can be seen from the high levels of the use and the use of informatics tools both
hardware and software in daily life in the community. Community needs for information and
communication between each other to make greater use of this technology.
At present the benefits of technological development has been much felt. Almost in
every place be it a company, the office until the schools were already applying information
technology to support their activities and events. Development of computer technology is
rapidly increasing, especially in the sector of software, making the computer becomes a major
requirement for a specific community, one example is the business.
In the world of working, has many businesses and businesses that implement the
computerized system in the regulation of their working system. In doing their work depends
heavily on computers. Computers are not only used as a calculating machine or a typewriter,
but also widely used to help making important decisions in business and helping business
owners in overseeing the work of employees.
Putra Indotama Label is a company engaged in printing labels and hang tags for
clothing. The company produces the products according to orders or requests from buyers. In
other words, the production systems of these companies is job order. To meet the demands of
diverse production, raw materials and components required course vary. Raw data are
recorded manually in excel so that the marketing had little difficulty in processing as well as
finding the necessary data.
Therefore, need a database system which is planned to store and process all customer
orders existing data, as well as giving consideration in making a purchase to the supplier
making it easier for companies to control the use of raw materials to avoid waste. The more
accurate data as well as suppliers of raw materials that exist in the company, will enable
companies in the implementation of the overall manufacturing process.

This research aimed to design a database system associated with system sales,
purchasing and inventory of goods on the Putra Indotama Label and to make applications
database system that can provide monthly reports of sales and purchases of goods.

2. Methodology
The research begins by analyzing the system is running at the Putra Indotama Label.
From the analysis of existing problems were identified, namely the need for a database system
that can facilitate the process of selling, purchasing, and inventory, as well as the need for an
application that can provide monthly reports of sales and purchase transactions. After a
literature study was done with the existing problems related to database design process.

Context Diagram of The Running Systems

The problems faced by Putra Indotama Label are:
(1) The absence of a database system that is able to accelerate and simplify the process
of data processing such as inputting and updating data's, so it is still common redundancy,
(2) Reports of transactions that are recorded manually such as sales reports, purchasing
and inventory of goods to the higher error rate,
(3) Managers who travel frequently out of town, so that access to and control over the
company's work becomes difficult.
5

Looking at the problems facing the company, the proposed solution of the problem as
follows:
(1) Designing and building a data base system for the company, to manage all existing
data, reduce redundancy and simplify and accelerate the company's decision-making,
(2) Making a database system that can organize and manage all transactions reported
by the company. With this expected to reduce the error rate during recording manually,
(3) Designing a web-based application that allows managers to access the system and
work processes of the company's outside business or office.

2.1 Design
From the results obtained logical database design Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD)
Local Data as follows :

Use Case Diagram is designed to give an overview of the application system from a
user point of view, namely Admin, Staff Order and Purchase Staff. Here is a use case diagram
of the application system will be designed to describe the things to do user :

2.2 Implementation

11

The implementation process includes the installation of software, hardware, and database
testing. After all the technical issues completed, application will be accessible to
employees who have been given the task of managing the software accoding to the
permission granted.
2.3 Evaluation
The comparison between the old system with the new system are:
(1) manual processing system on the old system was replaced with a new system of
computerized data base,
(2) new applications have a good look and structure,
(3) The consistency of layout objects on the application,
(4) new applications are dynamic and can be updated in real time,
(5) a new application allows the company to make purchases and record the order of
the Customer with ease,
(6) application of the new ease in the company view, insert, modify and delete data data that exist, in order to produce accurate and integrated information.

3. Conclusion
The conclusions of this study were:
(1) Generate a data base system is well integrated with the database system sales,
purchasing, and inventory,
(2) The design of the database system that will either make the stored data is more
accurate, easier to enter, search , modify and delete data, and to report,
(3) the user can obtain data accurate inventory of raw materials to quickly and easily,
so there is no buildup of raw materials,
(4) the division of authority on the authentication and limit the application in user and
access rights users in accordance with the duties and responsibilities, so that data security is
guaranteed,
(5) Increase the productivity of the company.
