Row 2: ch 2, dc in same stitch and in each stitch across, turn. (20 st)
Row 3: ch 1, sc in same stitch and in each stitch across, turn. (20 st)
Rows 4-14: repeat rows 2 and 3.
20 stitches and 14 rows= 5.5 square
Front
With wrong side facing you, join yarn to first unworked stitch.
Row 1: Ch 1, sc in same st and in the next 27(29, 31) stitches (worked on the wrong side),
turn (28, 30, 32)
Change to CB
Row 2: Ch 2, dc in same st, dc in next st, sp dc in next, *dc 2, sp dc in next*, repeat
across, dc in last st for 0-3m, and the last 2 st for 6-12m, turn. (28, 30, 32)
Row 3: Ch 1, sc in same st and in the next 27 stitches, turn (28,30,32)
Change to CC
Rows 4 and 5: Repeat rows 2 and 3
Change to CB
Rows 6 and 7: Repeat rows 2 and 3
Change to MC
Row 8: Repeat row 2(stop here for 0-3m and 3-6m)
Row 9: Repeat row 3
Row 10: Ch 2, dc in same st and each st across. (32)
Turn work inside out. Slip st 6 st in toward the middle. Finish off. Join yarn to other
side, sl st 6 st in toward the middle. Finish Off. Turn back to right side.
*You may need to sl st more or less on each side to get a good fit. Just make sure you do
the same number of stitches on each side. You want the garment to slip comfortably
over the childs head but not be too wide that it sticks out.
Sleeves
With MC
Join to one of the bottom stitches to the inside of the armhole
Round 1: ch 1, sc 22(22, 24) evenly around the armhole, join to first st, turn. (22, 22, 24)
Round 2: Ch 2, dc 22(22, 24) around, join to first st, turn. (22, 22, 24)
Rounds 3-14(16, 18): Repeat rounds 1 and 2
Round 15(17,19): Ch 2, bpdc in first st, fpdc in next, repeat sequence around, join. (22,
22, 24)
Round 16(18,20): Ch 1, sc in same st and each st around, join. (22, 22, 24)
Finish off. Do the same on the other side.
*For longer or shorter sleeves just repeat rounds 1 and 2 until desired length, ending
with round 2. Then do the bpdc, fpdc round and last round. You can also make the arms
wider or thinner but adding or taking away stitches in round one.
Collar
With MC, join to st in neck hole.
Round 1: Ch 1, sc evenly around the neck hole, including a sc in each corner st, join to 1st
st.
Round 2: Ch 2, dc in same st and around, join.
Round 3: Ch 2, bpdc in first st, fpdc in next, repeat sequence around, join
Finish off.
Bottom Edging
With MC, join to any ch st on the backside of the bottom.
Round 1: Ch 1, sc 56(60,64) around, join to first st. (56,60,64)
Round 2: Ch 2, dc 56(60,64) around, join to first st. (56,60,64)
Round 3: Ch 2, bpdc in first st, fpdc in next, repeat sequence around, join to first st.
(56,60,64)

*Back panel should come to the top of the childs shoulders. If you need more rows to
get it there just continue to repeat rows 1 and 2, ending with row 2, until it reaches the
top of the childs shoulder.
Front
With wrong side facing you, join yarn to first unworked st.
Row 1: Ch 1, sc in same st and in the next 32(35,35,36) stitches (worked on the wrong
side), turn. (33,36,36,37)
Change to CB
Row 2: Ch 2, dc in same st, dc in next st, sp st in next, *dc 2, sp st in next*, repeat across,
dc in last st for 3T. (33,36,36,37)
Row 3: Ch 1, sc in same st and in the next 32(35,35,36) stitches, turn. (33,36,36,37)
Change to CC
Rows 4 and 5: Repeat rows 2 and 3
Change to CB
Rows 6 and 7 : Repeat rows 2 and 3
Change to MC
Row 8: Repeat row 2
Row 9: Repeat row 3
Row 10: Ch 2, dc in same st and each st across. (33,36,36,37)- Stop here for 12-18m
and 18-24m.
Row 11: Ch 1, sc in same st and each st across. (36, 37)
Row 12: Ch 2, dc in same st and each st across. (36, 37)
Turn work inside out. Sl st 6(6, 8, 8) stitches in toward the middle. Finish off. Join yarn
to other side, sl st 6(6, 8, 8) st in toward the middle. Finish Off. Turn back to right side.
