AMPUTATION?
Amputation
involves the
surgical removal
of a body part,
usually the leg or arm. Some of the
main reasons for amputation are:
Gangrene: blood loss causes
tissue death (often due to
peripheral arterial disease)
Cancer or a serious infection
Extensive trauma, such as
a motoring injury, military
wound, or industrial accident
Deformity or chronic pain.
