The objectives (aims) of the course are to: -

Expose students to the general knowledge and current issues of biotechnological


application in medical area.

Introduce the techniques or technologies applied in medical biotechnology.

3.

Discuss the importance of biotechnology application in medicine in an effort to benefit


the Ummah.

Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:

such as DNA finger printing, SNPs, gene therapy technology to treat cancers and a few

This course will update the students with technology of biotechnology in medical areas,
particularly in disease diagnosis and treatments. Generally the main emphasis is on current
issue of medical biotechnology. It equips the students with extra knowledge which is required
in job market. Furthermore, relevant issues on social and legal aspects will be discussed in
details.
