Rio de Janeiro - cidade maravilhosa
A cidade do Rio de Janeiro uma das cidades brasileiras mais conhecidas no mundo. Desde
o passado essa cidade vem tendo muita importncia para o pas. Com certeza toda a fama da
beleza e alegria da cidade pode ser comprovada quando vemos suas paisagens naturais e suas
obras espetaculares.
Para comear, as praias cariocas. A praia de Copacabana a praia mais famosa do Rio de
Janeiro. A existem muitos quiosques e feiras de artesanato para se entreter enquanto se
observa a maravilhosa paisagem. Alm disso, a praia possui um histrico forte, o Forte de
Copacabana, que est aberto para visitaes. Outra praia muito visitada a de Ipanema, uma
das praias mais badaladas da cidade. No passado essa praia serviu de inspirao e cenrio da
msica Garota de Ipanema.
Um outro lugar imperdvel o Monte Po de Acar, com 396 metros de altura. Nele se
localiza o bondinho do Po de Acar, o primeiro telefrico brasileiro. Nesse monte pode-se
ver belas paisagens, alm de uma esplndida vista da cidade.
E com certeza um lugar que preciso conhecer o Cristo Redentor, no morro do Corcovado.
O Cristo Redentor a escultura de Cristo Jesus de braos abertos, que foi considerado A
maravilha do Rio, e atualmente uma das Sete Maravilhas do Mundo Moderno.

Para os amadores de futebol, Rio de Janeiro apresenta o estdio do Maracan, um dos

maiores estdios do mundo. O Maracan pode comportar um pblico de 114,145 pessoas
atualmente. No ano de 2014 o estdio ser palco da abertura e encerramento da Copa
Mundial.
E por fim, o Sambdromo, onde so realizados os desfiles das escolas de samba do Rio de
Janeiro. No ms de fevereiro, em todo o Brasil se comemora o Carnaval e nesse ritmo que
as escolas de samba apresentam na passarela todo o trabalho realizado durante um ano, com
muita beleza, alegria e festividade.
O Rio de Janeiro tem o apelido de cidade maravilhosa, e isso no se pode contestar. Alm
de maravilhosa, o Rio uma cidade muito acolhedora e recebe durante o ano muitos turistas
de todos os lugares do mundo e de outras cidades do Brasil que vm se encantar com as
belezas da cidade.

Rio de Janeiro - The Wonder City
The city of Rio de Janeiro ("January River") is one of the most worldwide-known Brazilian
cities. Looking into the past, this city has been very important to the country. Surely, the
reputation of all the beauty and joy of the city can be confirmed when we see its natural view
and amazing works.
Let's start with the beaches of Rio. The Copacabana beach is the most famous of Rio de
Janeiro. There are many kiosks and handicraft fairs to entertain you while looking at the
amazing view. Besides, the beach has a historical fortification, the Copacabana Fortification,
which is open to visit. Another beach visited by many is Ipanema, one of the places many
people go to enjoy in the city. In the past, this beach was used as inspiration and scenery for
the song "Girl of Ipanema."
Another place you cant miss is the Po de Acar Hill ("Sugar Loaf Hill"), at 396 meters
high. Located there is the Po de Acar tram, the first Brazilian cable car. On this hill, you
can see beautiful landscape views, plus a splendid view of the city.

And surely, a place that you need to know is the Cristo Redentor ("Redeemer Christ"), in the
Corcovado Hill. The Redeemer Christ is a sculpture of Jesus Christ with open arms, that was
considered "The Wonder of Rio," and nowadays, is one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern
World.
For the soccer lovers, Rio de Janeiro presents the Maracan Stadium, one of the biggest in
the world. The Maracan can hold a public of 114,145 people now. In 2014, the stadium will
be the stage for the opening and closing ceremonies of the World Cup.
And finally, the Sambdromo, where the parade of the samba schools of Rio de Janeiro are
held. In February, all of Brazil celebrates the Carnival and is in this rhythm that the samba
schools present on the catwalk consisting of all the work made during a year, full of beauty,
joy, and festivity.
Rio de Janeiro has the nickname "Wonder City," and it cant be opposed. Besides being
wonderful, Rio is a welcoming city that receives many tourists throughout the whole year,
both from all over the world and from many other cities of Brazil, that come to be enchanted
with the beauties of the city.

Rio de Janeiro has always been a very dynamic city of Brazil. In the past, it was the capital of the
country, and today it holds the position of the second biggest Brazilian metropolis, which also has the
second biggest Gross Domestic Product of Brazil. It is the most well-known Brazilian city outside the
country and has the most visited sightseeing of Brazil, beyond the most famous Carnival of the world.
