FOR ARMY
You can go via TECHNICAL ENTRY SCHEME (TES exam).
Notification generally comes in May/June
Age Limit: Candidates age must not be below 16 1/2 years & above 19 1/2 years as on the first
day of the month in which the course is commencing i.e. the candidate should not be born
before 01-07-1996 and not after 01-07-1999 (both days inclusive).
Educational Qualification: Candidates should have passed 10+2 Examination or its
equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 70% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics from
a recognized education board.
Selection Process: Candidates will be selected based on cutoff % as decided by the Rtg Dte &
Services Selection Board (SSB) Interview.

FOR AIRFORCE

How to apply: Candidates are required to apply online by using the
website www.upsconline.nic.in Detailed instructions are available on the above mentioned
website
Eligibility:
1. Army wing of National Defence Academy: 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of
School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a
University
2. Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2
Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy: 12th Class pass of the 10+2
pattern of School Education or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a
State Education Board or a University
Candidates who are appearing in the 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern of School Education or
equivalent examination can also apply for this examination. 11th class students are not eligible.
Those candidates who have failed INSB/PABT earlier are not eligible for Air Force
Selection Procedure: The Union Public Service Commission shall prepare a list of
candidates who obtain the minimum qualifying marks in the written examination as fixed by the
commission at their discretion
Such candidates shall appear before a Services Selection Board for Intelligence and Personality
Test .
PABT (pilot test) applicable to candidates with Air Force as first choice would also be conducted for all
SSB qualified candidates with one of the choice as Air Force subject to their eligibility and if they
are so willing
All the candidates will be put to stage one test on first day of reporting at Selection Centers/Air
Force Selection Boards
Only those candidates who qualify at stage one will be admitted to the second stage/remaining
tests
Facilitation Counter: In case of any guidance/information/clarification regarding their
applications, candidature etc candidates can contact UPSCs facilitation counter near gate C of
its campus in person or over Tel 011-23385271/011-23381125/011-23098543 on working days
between 10.00 hrs and 17.00 hr
1. Candidates must have age between 19 and 23 years to apply in this branch.
2. Graduates of any discipline/ B.E. / B. Tech can apply for AFCAT if they have scored
minimum aggregate of 60% in all subjects.
3. Minimum height required for candidates is 162.5 cms and weight should be
proportionate to this height.
Eligibility Criteria Technical Branch:
1. Age of the applicants to this branch should be in the bracket of 18 and 28 years.
2. Technical Branch is sub divided into two wings, Electronics and Mechanical. Candidates
having 4 years B.E./ B. Tech from a recognized institute or having cleared Section A and
B of AMIE India/ Aeronautical Society India/ Graduate Membership exam of Institute of
Mechanical/ Electronics and Telecom Engineers, can apply. All those who have done
at least 4 years course in aeronautical engineering from a recognised
university are eligible.
3. While minimum height required for males is 157.5 cms, it is 152 cms for females. Weight
of candidates has to be correlated to this height.

In Administrative & Logistics division, Graduation with 60% aggregate marks or Post
Graduation/ equivalent with 50% aggregate in any discipline.
In Accounts Branch, B. Com with 50% minimum aggregate or M. Com/ CA/ ICWA with
minimum 50% aggregate marks in all subjects.
In Education branch, Post graduation Degree with minimum 50% marks aggregated for
all papers is required.
For Ground Duty branch, minimum height required for male candidates is 157.5 cms and
for females it is 152 cms. Weight should be proportionate to the height of candidates.
Selection Process:
First aspirants will be short listed based on the performance in the written exams and
followed by Intelligence Test, Psychological Test, Group Test, Medical conducted by Air
Force Selection Boards (AFSBs).
Aspirants who have applied for Flying Branch have to appear for PABT or Pilot Aptitude
Battery Test additionally for their commissioning.
