Age Limit: Candidates age must not be below 16 1/2 years & above 19 1/2 years as on the first
day of the month in which the course is commencing i.e. the candidate should not be born
before 01-07-1996 and not after 01-07-1999 (both days inclusive).
Educational Qualification: Candidates should have passed 10+2 Examination or its
equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 70% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics from
a recognized education board.
Selection Process: Candidates will be selected based on cutoff % as decided by the Rtg Dte &
Services Selection Board (SSB) Interview.

Eligibility:
1. Army wing of National Defence Academy: 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of
School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a
University

2. Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2
Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy: 12th Class pass of the 10+2
pattern of School Education or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a
State Education Board or a University
Candidates who are appearing in the 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern of School Education or
equivalent examination can also apply for this examination. 11th class students are not eligible.
Those candidates who have failed INSB/PABT earlier are not eligible for Air Force
Selection Procedure: The Union Public Service Commission shall prepare a list of
candidates who obtain the minimum qualifying marks in the written examination as fixed by the
commission at their discretion
Such candidates shall appear before a Services Selection Board for Intelligence and Personality
Test .
PABT (pilot test) applicable to candidates with Air Force as first choice would also be conducted for all
SSB qualified candidates with one of the choice as Air Force subject to their eligibility and if they
are so willing
All the candidates will be put to stage one test on first day of reporting at Selection Centers/Air
Force Selection Boards

Only those candidates who qualify at stage one will be admitted to the second stage/remaining
tests

FOR NAVY
You can apply for these by college under ( UNIVERSITY ENTRY SCHEME) this scheme is only
for B.TECH students. Notification comes generally in MAY
If you are applying by college you don't need to give an entrance exam. Direct interviews & GD
will be conducted & candidates will be chosen for 5 days SSB process.
But if you are applying after graduation, you will first have to download the application from
their site whenever they publish it (like any bank exam) and appear for the written exam.
FOR AIRFORCE
Under this scheme, students in their final year of their degree course can apply. A team of Air
Force Officers then conducts a screening test (Written exam AFCAT- happens twice a
year generally in February and in September ) at a designated place in the campus of
which students are informed much earlier. Selected candidates proceed for SSB.
Notification for February comes in December & for September in May . Other details like age

AFACT Eligibility according to Branches (Men and women)
Eligibility Criteria Flying Branch:

1. Candidates must have age between 19 and 23 years to apply in this branch.
2. Graduates of any discipline/ B.E. / B. Tech can apply for AFCAT if they have scored
minimum aggregate of 60% in all subjects.
3. Minimum height required for candidates is 162.5 cms and weight should be
proportionate to this height.
Eligibility Criteria Technical Branch:
1. Age of the applicants to this branch should be in the bracket of 18 and 28 years.
2. Technical Branch is sub divided into two wings, Electronics and Mechanical. Candidates
having 4 years B.E./ B. Tech from a recognized institute or having cleared Section A and
B of AMIE India/ Aeronautical Society India/ Graduate Membership exam of Institute of
Mechanical/ Electronics and Telecom Engineers, can apply. All those who have done
at least 4 years course in aeronautical engineering from a recognised
university are eligible.
3. While minimum height required for males is 157.5 cms, it is 152 cms for females. Weight
of candidates has to be correlated to this height.

First aspirants will be short listed based on the performance in the written exams and
