The sample you have received will contain the following:

The validators/hoppers you have ordered.


IF17 interface box.
CN398 SSP bus interface cable.
WR147 adaptor cable.
CN389 SMART Hopper power cable.
CN487 Smart Ticket SSP bus interface cable
CN214 USB cable.
USB flash drive.

2 CONNECTING THE DEVICES TO YOUR PC


Before continuing, the devices must be connected to a PC running Windows. Please follow
the steps below to connect the hardware:
Bank Note Validator
1. Plug one end of the USB cable into the PC and the other end into the IF17.
2. The wide 16 pin connector on the CN398 cable should be connected to the WR147
adapter.
3. The 16 way connector at the end of the WR147 cable can then be connected to the
bank note validator.
4. The 16 way connector at the opposite end of the CN398 cable should be connected to
the IF17.
5. The two power lines on the CN398 cable need to be connected to +12v DC (red) and
0v (black).
NV200 with SMART Payout
1. Plug one end of the USB cable into the PC and the other end into the IF17.
2. The wide 16 pin connector on the CN398 cable should be connected to the rear of the
SMART Payout device.
3. The 16 way connector at the opposite end of the CN398 cable should be connected to
the IF17.
4. The two power lines on the CN398 cable need to be connected to +12v DC (red) and
0v (black).
SMART Hopper
1. Plug one end of the USB cable into the PC and the other end into the IF17.

2. The 8 pin connector on the CN398 cable should be connected to the rear of the
SMART Hopper, the correct port is marked eSSP.
3. The 16 way connector at the opposite end of the CN398 cable should be connected to
the IF17.
4. The separate power cable CN389 should be connected to +24v DC (red) and 0v
(black). This then connects to the rear of the SMART Hopper.

NV200 with SMART Ticket


1. Plug one end of the USB cable into the PC and the other end into the IF17.
2. The wide 16 pin connector on the CN487 cable should be connected to side of the
SMART Ticket device.
3. The 16 way connector at the opposite end of the CN487 cable should be connected to
the IF17.
4. CN389 should also be fitted to the side of the Smart Ticket device.
5. The power lines on the CN389 & CN487 need to be connected to +24v DC (red) and 0v
(black)
SMART Coin System
1. Plug one end of the USB cable into the PC and the other end into the IF17.
2. The 8 pin connector on the CN398 cable should be connected to the rear of the
SMART Coin System, the correct port is marked eSSP.
3. The 16 way connector at the opposite end of the CN398 cable should be connected to
the IF17.
4. The separate power cable CN389 should be connected to +24v DC (red) and 0v
(black). This then connects to the rear of the SMART Coin System.

You can also connect combinations of these devices using the cables supplied. Please see the
below images for clarification:

3 INSTALLING THE DRIVERS


To communicate with the devices, a driver pack needs to be installed for the IF17 device. The
driver pack is contained on the USB flash drive. To install the driver, please follow these
steps:

Plug the USB flash drive into the PC.


Open the drive using My Computer.
Navigate to the Drivers folder.
Double click the IF17 Driver Setup.exe file.

4 RUNNING THE DEMO SOFTWARE FOR SMART


HOPPER, SMART PAYOUT & SMART COIN SYSTEM
Included in this package is a simple demo program called Pay-in Pay-out System (PIPS). To
install and run this program, please follow the steps below:

Open the flash drive using My Computer.


Navigate to the Demo Software folder.
Double click the PIPS_2_3_4.msi file and follow the steps to install the program.
Once the program has installed, a new Start Menu entry will have been added named
ITL Smart Tools. In this folder, open the Pay-in Pay-out system to launch the
program.
5. A guide to using the PIPS program is located in the Demo Software folder.

5 RUNNING THE DEMO SOFTWARE FOR SMART TICKET


Included in this package is a simple demo program called SMART Ticket Manager. To install
and run this program, please follow the steps below:
1. Open the flash drive using My Computer.
2. Navigate to the Demo Software folder.
3. Open the SMART Ticket System folder and double click the
TicketTemplateManagerSetup_1_20 file and follow the steps to install the program.
4. Once the program has installed, a new Start Menu entry will have been added named
InnoPrint Tools. In this folder, open the Ticket Template Manager to launch the
program.
