COLTS NECK Two men died and a third was hospitalized Wednesday morning after they were thrown
from a truck that overturned on Route 18 North.
Apolinar Guerrero, 39, of Piscataway was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:30 a.m., according to
Monmouth County Prosecutors Office spokesman
Charlie Webster. Juan Sanchez, 51, of Bound Brook, was
pronounced dead at 8:35 a.m. Both men were passengers in the truck.
The driver Nicolas Denis, 23, of Elizabeth was
in stable condition at a local hospital, Webster wrote in
an email.
They were riding in a commercial line-striping
truck owned by Straight Edge Striping of Bound Brook.
The truck was headed north on Route 18 when it overturned between Route 34 and Route 537 in Colts Neck
about 6:15 a.m.
The Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis
Response Team and Colts Neck police are investigating
the crash, with assistance from the New Jersey State
Police Commercial Vehicle Inspection Unit. Tinton
Falls and Marlboro police assisted by redirecting traffic.
Tinton Falls police blocked both lanes of the freeway
around 6:30 a.m., sending motorists to Exit 19A toward
Route 34 North.
The road was re-opened about 3:30 p.m.
While police were investigating the fatal crash, traffic service 511nj.org reported a second crash in the area
around 8:30 a.m., this time on the southbound side at Exit 22 in Colts Neck.
That crash caused a 15- to 20-minute delay as police
blocked off the left lane.
Anyone with information about the fatal crash is
urged to call Detective Eric Kerecman of the Monmouth County Prosecutors Office at 1-800-533-7443 or
Sgt. Kristian DeVito of the Colts Neck Township Police
Department at 732-780-7323.

Instead of getting a debate boost for his sagging

presidential hopes, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie got
the silent treatment from CNN moderators Wednesday
night.
Christie went 32 minutes without being called on in
the second Republican presidential primary debate
and missed out as Donald Trump and other candidates
traded volleys in front of tens of millions of viewers on
important topics such as the Iran nuclear deal, the Syria
crisis and Russian-backed separatists in Ukraine.

Nor did Christie participate when Trump took a beating with former business executive Carly Fiorina hitting hardest when asked to reply to Trumps comments
about her appearance.
Trump in Rolling Stone had said of Fiorina: Look at
that face! Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine
that, the face of our next president?! I mean, shes a
woman, and Im not supposed to say bad things, but
really, folks, come on. Are we serious?
Trump later claimed he was talking about Fiorinas
