Digital Library Media Server Computer Program

1. Project Rationale
The traditional method of using library materials has become less useful
and effective in these years because of the fast growth high technology. In
view of this method, more and more people especially students prefer to
undertake research through the internet. Sourcing of literature and other
reading materials in internet is faster and more convenient; however, we are
not sure of the authority and accuracy of the information. This problem can
be minimized if not eliminated when the electronic files are found in the
digital library because the librarian can determine the credibility of the
sources. To do this, the digital library needs a computer program that
manages the media files.
The Media Server Site Manager is computer program assigned to manage
media files such as electronic books (e-book), educational movies and audios.
Aside from the convenience it could offer to the students, the program is
inherently and significantly necessary for the operation and utility of the
digital library. In other words, without a media server, the MSU Digital Library
is more like of an internet caf.
a. Advantage of using Media Server
The main advantage of using a Media Server Program is that, aside
from the resources established in MSU Main Library, the students and the
faculties will be a given more educational resources that is very easy for
them to make find. Most of these resources may not be available in MSU
Main Library, like the electronic educational movies and audios that can
really help the researchers for their studies. The examples of educational
movies and audios that can be found in a media server are documentary
discoveries, documentary histories, academic recorded tutorials, recorded
seminars and other media files that contain educational information.

The developed program of Media Server has several features. The
