SELECTION PROCEDURE :
Phase-I Examination consisting Objective Tests for 200 marks and
Descriptive
Test for 50 marks.
The Objective Test will be online. Immediately after online
Objective Test,Descriptive Test will be administered. Cadidates will
have to answer Descriptive
Test on paper/Pen mode.
(i) The Objective Test with 2 hour duration consists of 4 Sections
with 50Objective Test:
marks each (Total 200 marks) as follows:
a) Test of English Language (Grammar, Vocabulary,
Comprehension etc.)
b) Test of General Awareness, Marketing & Computers
c) Test of Data Analysis & Interpretation
d) Test of Reasoning (High Level)
The candidates are required to qualify in each of the Tests by
securing passing marks,
to be decided by the Bank.

(ii) The Descriptive Test with 1 hour duration (50marks) will be of


TestDescriptive Test:of English Language (comprehension, short
prcis, letter writing & essay).
The candidates are required to qualify in the Descriptive Test by
securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank.
Descriptive Test paper of only those candidates will be evaluated
who have scored qualifying marks in the Objective Tests and are
Placed adequately high as per total marks in objective test.
(b) Phase-II Group Discussion (20 marks) & Interview (30 marks)
The aggregate marks of candidates qualifying in both the Objective
Tests and Descriptive Test will be arranged in descending order in
each category. Adequate number of candidates in each category, as
decided by the Bank will be called for Group
Discussion and Interview. The qualifying marks in Group
Discussion & Interview will be as decided by the Bank.

English Language (Grammar, Vocabulary, Comprehension etc.): Tips


English Language is considered as one of the interesting sections in SBI PO Exam
2014, which requires good command over English language. For this, the
candidates are required to strengthen their vocabulary power in order to score well.
The candidates should try to enhance their grammatical concepts. This section
generally includes Passage Based questions, Common Error in Sentence, Rapid
Fillers, Close Test, Antonyms, and Synonyms etc.

Data Analysis & Interpretation: Tips

For solving the questions of Data Analysis & Interpretation, the candidate should
have knowledge of basic calculations, and approximation concepts. The clarity in
basic concept knowledge will directly drive the candidates to the right option.
Apart from this, speed is the foremost requirement for numerical ability section.
The questions in this section are generally from the topics of Simplification,
Approximation, Profit and Loss Percentage, Discount, Average, Data
Interpretation, Time and Work etc

Reasoning (High Level): Tips


For preparation of Reasoning Section, one should require mental alertness and
logical skills. To be an expertise in this section, candidate should understand the
nature of questions by practicing similar questions from model papers and previous
year exam papers. The questions in this section are included from topics like
Verbal and Non Verbal Reasoning including topics- Analogy, Input-Output,
Classification, Syllogism, Inferences etc.

General Awareness, Marketing & Computers: Tips


It is one of the scoring sections of the IBPS SBI PO Exam Question Paper. For
preparation of this section, the candidates should have an eye over latest
happenings of the banking industry and economy. This requires knowledge of
General Awareness along with Banking Awareness. The topics included in GA
Section comprise Banking System of India, Money, Budgeting, Financial Planning,
National and International Organization etc.
Questions from computers require the basic knowledge of computer, Networking,
Internet, and Communication along with new researches in the same field. The
topics included in this section include Computer Components, Languages,
operations, Networking etc.
