Developed new compression scheme and quality metric for High Dynamic Range video/image
Researched, planned, coordinated, and evaluated over 10 campus-wide events for 1,500+ UBC
students and alumni over three month period.
Provided on-site interpretation services for meetings, conferences and study tours, including visiting
delegates from Chinese universities, companies and government agencies.

Led a three-person research team to establish project scope, terms of reference, timeline, and budget
considerations with Supervisor and Industry Representative from Awesome Company.
Applied strong programming competency in C++ and Matlab as well as efficient hardware calibration
skills to test and evaluate published video quality metrics with subjective test.
Designed and implemented algorithm that accurately estimates quality of high dynamic range as well
as account for display luminance condition, exceeding Industry Representatives expectations and

Results under review by Supervisor for publication in Computers and Electrical Engineering and

Led three-person project team to design algorithm to compress HDR video based on HEVC standard,
which was published as a conference paper.
Collaborate with UBC Career Services and Alumni Affairs to organize the largest networking event for
international students in UBC, attended by 250 students and 50 industry representatives. Assist with
event coordination and team management.
Designed learning sessions for exchange students, supervised student leader team (10 student
