Sharing the Gospel in Baratillo, Mexico

R. J., Anna Lee, and Charity Moss
"The great opportunity is where you are John Burroughs
Anna Lee was diagnosed with breast cancer in late
January 2015. This was the beginning of a very difficult
time with her having cancer treatments, surgery, and
further treatments. Yet we have seen God move in
many mighty ways. During this time, we made many
new friends and were given many opportunities to hand
out Bibles and share Christ. During the 4 hour chemotherapy treatments, Anna was
able to talk with
the ladies there,
establish friendships, talk with
them, pray for
them, and read the
Bible.

R.J. has had several opportunities to speak at the church

in Baratillo, When Mike is away and someone is available to translate, Mike lets R.J. speak. It has been a great
privilege and R.J wants to thank all the translators who
have not run off in despair after hearing his strong GA
accent!

Annas health is
getting better each
day even though
she currently has
a cold.
In spite of this
cold, she is getting stronger every day. Her hair is
growing slowly and has come back curly, but her head
is covered now and helps keep her from having a chill
although it didnt stop her from getting a cold!

TRIP TO GEORGIA PLANNED

We are planning a trip to GA in November or
December. If anyone would like for us to come to
your church or group and say a few words of
what God is doing here in Mexico, we will be
happy to share with you.
Charity returned from a 2 month stay in Georgia in late
July. Since returning, she has not only started school but
also had her friend, Fernanda Solis from Monterrey visit
her for a week. They enjoyed crafts, music, cooking,
hiking, and a multitude of activities during this time.
She also went to Monterrey for a week with some other
friends, Gracia and Tamara, earlier in the month.

Please contact us early so that we can make

plans and be available for those who desire to
hear from us about the exciting things God is
doing here. We hope to be in GA for about 2
months and be back to Mexico in early January.

Several people have asked us what a typical day is like in Mexico. That is a difficult question to answer since no two days are the same! Some days, R.J. might be framing signs for the
camp; on other days, he might be repairing the bathrooms at the church or camp, restoring a
cabin, working with the water supply and maintaining water tanks, constructing a new building
or fence for the camp, rewiring electrical outlets, working on the vans used in the ministry, or
any number of other activities.
Along with these necessary chores, he is involved in visiting the people, helping with needs in
the community, and occasionally preaching at the church. We are here to serve in whatever capacity God desires and, often, this requires multi-tasking as well as being flexible. They say
that flexibility is the key to being a missionary and we believe it!

God made it possible for the camp to purchase over

100 acres by a donation from a few givers. The camp
now owns all the way to the top of the mountain!!!
Praise God! We will be having many family camps
and other group activities for people who would not
otherwise have this opportunity. During these camps,
there will be Bible Studies, singing (and eating)
around campfires, horseback rides, games, and other
activities for the families who attend.
We are putting a fence around all the land so we can
turn the horses and donkey loose. This will make it a
lot easier to take care of them now.

We have signs for the camp. They look so great. God

is good!!! I have been making frames for them, so we
will have signs from San Juan to the camp making it
easier for people to find us since we are on this rough
dirt road.

We also have signs for our bathrooms and other facilities at the camp, as well as directional signs.

Apples are the main crop in the area and most of the
farmers here depend for their livelihood. This years
crops were heavily damaged by hail early in the season and many farmers crops were almost completely rendered unusable at the premium prices that
the usually perfect apples demand. Please pray for
the farmers in this area.
With this valley having many apples trees, we get
several bushels each year, so we put them to good
use. We make jelly and more jelly. We have a good
supply of jelly, dried apples, apple butter, apple
sauce, canned apples, apple cider, and fresh apples
to eat and to share with others! Praise God!!!

College will start back soon for me (R.J.) and I have 7

months to go until graduation. However my advisor
talked to the board and they agreed to let me take
Spanish now instead of 2 more Greek courses. I will be
graduating by May if all goes as planned. This has
been a long road to walk but God has been by my side
and sometimes carrying me through this task in my

life. I still am asking God what He wants me to do with from Georgia when we first arrived) out of storage

and the kids have been playing it almost every evening. The kids here are having a great time with it.
Thank you, Sally Childress, for this asset to the ministry. We know that it will get lots of use with the
camps and visitors we have here.

We are so thankful to all who have prayed

for the Moss family and encouraged us.
We thank each one of you who have
helped with our support, medical bills,
and medications. God bless you. I want
you to know this is your work too. Without your help, support, and prayers we
would not be here today.

R. J.s corner
As I had said when I started this news letter, times have been hard here in Baratillo, but God has been faithful. He has taken care of every need even through all the cancer, the trips to town, places to stay for the
weeks of treatment, and medications. God is using us here and causing us to grow at the same time. I think
of Paul and all the difficulties that he went through while doing Gods work, how he saw God move even in
the bad things that happened to him. My things are so small when compared to what Paul went through, but
we have seen Gods hand in everything just as Paul did.
During the last year, God blessed us with two new grandchildren. Ezra is the son of our children, Benjamin
and Bekah Moss. Nicolas is the son of our children, Leonel and Tonya Valle. We are so thankful for them!
