Your Destiny in your hands

A Vedic philosophy:

Vedantic philosophy explains cycle of birth and death and re-births on the basis of
The Supreme Law of Causation.

Every act or Deed has it effects or the fruits of that deed. The effects of our deeds can
not be wiped out either in this or a later life. And it’s the sum-total of all our past and
present deeds that would shape our future lives.

Law of Causation:

This is subdivided in to:

‘Purusharth’ i.e. Law of Karma (deeds- the cause)

And

‘Prarabdha’ i.e. Law of destiny (the effect or the fruits of our deeds)

Law of Karma states that

- Only we are responsible for all our deeds.

- Neither God nor anybody else is responsible for our deeds or fruits f our
deeds.
- All our deeds have effect and influence on future lives.
- God could be the source of energy for our deeds but He does not influence
or interfere with Nature of our deeds or acts.
- Life dictates that we continue doing duties. Hence we can not stop doing
karmas. Inaction or not doing anything is not an Option. However, we
could detach ourselves from the results of deeds carried out as our earthly
duty.
- All our past and present deeds continue to accumulate and would
contribute to and influence our future lives.

Law of Destiny:

- What we get is what we deserve, not what we desire.

- Our Destiny is determined by our deed- both past and present.
- We are bound up by all our acts, however acts carried out as our duty,
without any attachment or expectation of fruits of our deed done as a true
dedication and offering to God, would absolve ourselves from
responsibility or attachment to the acts thus carried out.
- Our past acts influence our present life and cumulatively all our past (in
this and previous lives) and present deeds, influence our future lives,
which continues as an unending cycle of death and re-birth until we have
spent all our deeds completely.
Cycle of Re-births:

- Life time of unsatisfied desires lead us from to one birth to another,

leading to an unending cycle of Re-birth and death.
- However, any specific desire does not determine the nature of our next
life.
- The Self is immortal.
- Death is merely a transfer of our subtle and gross bodies from one mortal
body to another.
- According Vedanta, in between death and Re-birth, there is a variable
period of existence which could be described as Heaven or Hell.
- This unending cycle of Death and Rebirth goes on till all our deeds are
spent and there are no outstanding or unfulfilled desires.
- This is when the individual Self ultimately becomes one with supreme
universal Eternal Consciousness leading to the state of supreme
consciousness and ultimate Bliss- a true Sat Chit Anand.
- This is our Final destiny, ultimate goal; and it’s in our hands to
achieve it.
