On the performance of starter Aaron Brooks
Similar to what we saw today, we saw in his first couple outings. Hes throwing strikes, hes keeping the ball down, hes
mixing it up. Look at the pitch counts, and those really tell you where hes going. If he can keep the pitch count to a
minimum, hes getting ahead, hes throwing strikes. To be able to go seven innings and keep the pitch count at 100 or
below is pretty darn good.
On a strong game from Danny Valencia
We werent getting very good swings at all off of Iwakuma early on, and then he goes the other way and hits a double
and we get some better at-bats kind of feeding off that at-bat of his. We didnt score much off of him, but we got some hits.
The fastball was probably chin-high off a guy thats been pitching pretty well recently and a guy weve had a real tough
time with in Farquhar.
