Dear brothers and sisters, we are now in the Monday within the
Octave of Easter. In union with the whole church, we continue to
celebrate the joyful resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ, who
claimed victory over sin and death.
Also as we continue to celebrate this holy season of Easter, it is
indeed fitting to give thanks to our Lord for all the graces he
showered to the graduating students as well as to the entire
university throughout the academic year.

HOMILY
BLESSING OF ACADEMIC HOODS
After the homily and having observed a moment of silence for reflection, the Priest together with
a server walks through the aisle to bless the academic hoods by sprinkling of Holy Water,
without saying anything. Graduating students will wear the hoods over their togas immediately
after they have been blessed.
Response (ALL):
Graduating Student: Through Christ the Good Shepherd, you guided the Church by the
selfless shepherding of your servant FRANCIS our Pope. Grant that
we whom he thought to seek Christ through our needy brethren,
may always learn to emulate his example of mercy and compassion,
for this we pray: R.
Graduating Student: Through Christ your Son, grant that like the Holy Women whom he
entrusted to bring the joyful news of his resurrection to the
Apostles, we may also bear witness to his message with great
confidence, for this we pray: R.

You are the author of human life and its dignity, grant that the
benefits of a sound education may be quickly extended to all people
regardless of their state. For this we pray: R.

Graduating Student: In Christ your son, you gave us the model of your new creation, as
he advanced in wisdom, age, and grace. Grant that as we advance in
the course of our academic life, we too may grow through your
grace. For this we pray: R.
Graduating Student: Grant to all of us gathered here, o Lord, that that as we celebrate
the joyful resurrection of Christ our Lord, our sorrow may be
turned to gladness, and let our hearts be filled with joy as we glorify
you through this act of thanksgiving for all the success we had
throughout the academic year. For this we pray: R.

a table designated for this purpose.
Graduating Student: Reverend Father EDGARDO I. TORIBIO, JR.,
with joy the graduating class presents these medals,
diplomas and other ornaments
which symbolize the fruits of our labor during our college years.
We ask you to bless them and in our behalf invoke Gods grace
that he may send the Holy Spirit to inspire us
to serve God and country with loyalty.

Let us pray.
Blessed are you, Lord God, king of the universe:
you have made all things for your glory.
Grant that these, your sons and daughters,
whom you have enriched with knowledge and wisdom
may serve you and your people
with unfailing generosity and love.
Bless + these symbols to which they signify
the fruits of their labor and undying zeal
to glorify your name with their achievements
and grant that we may use them in your service
and for the good of all your people.
Through Christ our Lord.
People:
Amen.
The Priest sprinkles the symbols with holy water and incenses them.

Please be seated as the gifts are being presented for the Liturgy of the Eucharist.
OFFERTORY PROCESSION
If, however, the Offertory Chant is not sung, the Priest may speak these words aloud; at the end,
the people may acclaim:
Blessed be God for ever.
After this, the Priest, bowing profoundly, says quietly:
With humble spirit and contrite heart
may we be accepted by you, O Lord,
and may our sacrifice in your sight this day
be pleasing to you, Lord God.
If appropriate, he also incenses the offerings, the cross, and the altar. A Deacon or other minister
then incenses the Priest and the people.
Then the Priest, standing at the side of the altar, washes his hands, saying quietly:
Wash me, O Lord, from my iniquity
and cleanse me from my sin.
Standing at the middle of the altar, facing the people, extending and then joining his hands, he
says:
Pray, brethren (brothers and sisters),
that my sacrifice and yours
may be acceptable to God,
the almighty Father.
The people rise and reply:
May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your hands
for the praise and glory of his name,
for our good
and the good of all his holy Church.
People:
Amen.
