By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:


1.Demonstrate the correct use of prepositions by placing their monkey cards accor
the appropriate position, getting at least 5 correct out of 8
2.Write down the eight types of prepositions learned in a mind-map

Stages
Set Induction
( 5 minutes)

Procedures

1. Pupils watch a video clip on Five Little Monkeys.


(Pupils are asked to sing a long if they can)

Remarks
T. Materials:
1. Video clip

2. Pupils are asked to state what animal they can see in the
video.
Presentation
( 20 minutes)

1. Teacher shows a PowerPoint slideshow on the selected


prepositions pupils will learn for the day.
Teacher pronounces the prepositions and pupils follow.
2. Teacher shows pupils a box and asks pupils to guess what is
in it.

3. Pupils are each given a monkey flashcard and a box


flashcard.

4. Teacher explains that pupils are going to learn eight new


words.

5. Teacher uses the monkey and the box to teach pupils the
selected prepositions.

1. Pair work
Pupils produce a mind-map of the prepositions they have
learnt based on the template given.

Pupils are given 5 minutes to complete the mind map.

2. Individual work
Pupils must complete a set of worksheets. They may take
their own time in doing so, but they must stop in 10
minutes.

1. Pupils are divided into 8 groups.

2. Each group will be assign to draw a picture of given


preposition words and colours them.

Closure
( 5 minutes)

1. Pupils are asked to recall what they have learned for the
day.
Teacher asks random questions to see if pupils remember
what they have learned.
2. Pupils watch video clip again.
