1) Translate the following sentences into English
a. Si hubiera sabido que este tema te preocupaba tanto no habra dicho tantas
tonteras.
If I had known that this issue worried - concerned you so much, I would
not have told so many nonsense.
b. Las relaciones extra matrimoniales son a menudo usadas como argumento
en contra de la pareja en los procesos de divorcio.
Extra maritals affairs - relationships are often used as an argument
against of ex in divorce procedures.
c. Volar con algunas compaas de bajo coste es muy econmico para el
bolsillo hoy en da, a pesar de que el aumento de estos vuelos es nocivo
para el medio ambiente.
Flying with some low cost companies is very unexpensive on the pocket
nowadays, despite the increase of these flights is harmful to the
environement.
d. Freud postulaba que el impulso sexual refrenado es el origen de todas las
enfermedades psicolgicas del hombre.
Freud postulated that the sex drive refrained is the origin of all
psycological disseases of human beings.
e. Los gobiernos del primer mundo deberan mostrar un gran respecto por las
organizaciones humanitarias.
First world goverments should show a great respect for humanitarian
organizations.
f. Acabo de leer un artculo que tiene que ver con la rabia acumulada en el
nio que no es debidamente atendido por sus padres.
I have just read an article that has to do with the accumulated rage which
is not assisted properly by his parents.
2) Composition: What is your opinion about psychoanalysis? Would you follow
a therapy related to it? Do you know someone who has been treated through
it? Write an essay on this topic of about 150 words.
The purpose of this essay is to give my personal opinion about psychoanalysis.
First of all, I would like to say that I have never visited a psychoanalysist because I
have not needed to do it by the moment. However, I have read some articles and

books -mainly at university- about this topic. I consider this kind of theory a really
interesting way to find out the human being's essence. For this reason, I do not mind
following a personal therapy related to it.
According to my knowledge, the psychoanalisis was founded by Sigmund Freud from
1880 onwards. He studied deeply this new therapeutical method based on personal
experience and subconscious. Obviously, another thinkers and philosophers have
developed this school of thought with innovative ideas. Secondly, it should be note
that psychoanalysis is not widely extended in society. In fact, most people prefer go to
the shrink instead of going to the psychoanalysist.
Finally, I believe that psychoanalysis is a new trend nowadays which could be the key
to solve common problems in daily life instead of abusing prescription drugs.
