When you speak of spending the whole night? Does it refer to pulling out an allnighter? If so, I havent spent my entire night doing a school work. I always spare time,
maybe at least 1 hour, for me to sleep. I havent gone to school without a sleep or a
nap. But, most of my nights are spent doing school-related matters. Its not a question
since I am an Accountancy student and affiliated with several student organizations.
In a week, how often do you sleep late?
It depends. When you speak of sleeping late, my interpretation of that would be a
sleep of less than 8 hours or so. When we speak of a normal week (not a midterms week
nor a finals week), my best estimation would be half of the time. Half of the week is
spent sleeping late.
If early: (I will still answer the questions about being early since I also have
time to sleep early. Hahah. Its not on the average though but you might find
my questions helpful)
Considering your course, how do you manage to sleep early?
I manage to sleep early by doing all my school works and tasks earlier but then, it
depends. If there are a lot of work then I cannot finish it early and most probably, I will
still have to sleep late at night.
Do you make school-related matters ahead of time at school?
Yes. When I have free time and when the resources needed (like laptop, internet,
etc.) are available, I would do my best to do school-related matters.
Do you study in advance at school during your vacant time?
Yes. I study in advance especially when there are upcoming exams.
2. Does the fact that youre a graduating student cause you to have enough sleep or
less sleep?
Less sleep for most of us. Since we are almost at the finish line, this point of our
Accountancy life is the most critical one. This is a make or break situation. And, being a
fourth year does not mean that you have done enough, its still not yet enough and you
still have a lot of subjects to study and you still need to exert extraordinary effort to pass
the course and graduate with flying colors.
If less sleep:
Does being a fourth year accountancy student cause you to be stressed?
Yes. There is that fearor anything you might call itof failing. You are still not yet
assured of graduating because you are already a fourth year student. Being overly
confident because youve overcome a lot of obstacles in Accountancy might be the
cause of such failure. You still need to do your best even if your near the finish line. The
game is not over yet till its over as they say.
Does procrastination decrease your amount of sleep?
Yes, of course. There are times that I do things which I like and putting aside the
more important things and later on I will come to realize that I have spent so much of my
time doing the unnecessary things. But then, I try to lessen such procrastination as it is
not a good habit or character of an Accountancy student.
Do you take breaks to rest for a while from all worries in school? If yes, what do you do?
Yes. I hang out with my friends (eat out, watch movies, sing at WhatEver), eat my
favorite food, watch my favorite anime, or just sleep.
Have you tried experiencing health problems that are caused by staying up late?
Yes, oftentimes, especially fever. But I do take vitamins to back me up.
What are your pieces of advice for us freshmen students regarding the demands of
Accountancy?
Just focus on the things that you can do at the present. Dont mingle with what you
have not done and what you should have done in the past. You can do nothing about it.
Instead, focus on the present, prioritize the things you need to do and try your best to
organize yourself. Take a notebook or a planner and jot down all of your exam schedules
and frequently browse through the planner or notebook to remind you of the things you
need to do. Study with the best of your abilities but dont stress yourself out if you cant
study all of the topics. Remember that we are not made with limitless capacity, all of us
have limits and if youve done your best and youve only finished at that point, be proud
although youll get a low grade, because youve done your best and youve got nothing
to regret. Best advice, try your best to get enough rest and sleep. Youll very much need
it. Try not to stress out and mutter things which are not pleasant because youve got a
low grade, because your teacher is this and that, you will not go anywhere and youll just
waste your time on that. Youll waste your time thinking about negativities and all. Think
of things that are positive. Smile when you have the time. Destress if you are stressed.
Search for an inspiration and motivation. And one last thing, have a friend or group of
friends in Accountancy, they will be your support and they should influence you to study.
Dont maintain friends that will hinder you from studying. Accountancy is not about being
bright and intelligent, its about hard work, patience and perseverance. Just dont lose
focus. But, if its not meant for you, there are greener pastures out there. Accountancy is
not the only course you can take. Its a matter of choice and preference.
God bless!
