COURSE CONTENT AND OBJECTIVE


The objective of this seminar is to provide an overview of gaskets and seals applied to piping systems
and equipment in the oil and gas industries.

PREREQUISITES
No prerequisites are required; however, some prior knowledge of materials science is advantageous.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS


Dr. Gilberto Lunardi
Dupont Performance Polymers
Gilberto Lunardi is a Technical Service Consultant in the Applications Engineering group of the parts
business (Kalrez and Vespel) of DuPont. A Materials Engineer with Ph.D. in Materials Science from
the University of Florida Gainesville, he has been with the Performance Polymers Division of DuPont
since 2008. In his current position, he is responsible for applications development and technical
support to Kalrez and Vespel DuPont Customers in Chemical Processing Industries and Oil & Gas in
the Americas. Before DuPont, he held different R&D and materials development positions at Pirelli,
Braskem, Nexans and Solvay Solexis, where his work included polymer-based materials formulation,
physical and chemical characterization, process and applications development
Kris Katryniuk
IRISNDT
Mr. Kris Katryniuk is the Operations team lead for IRISNDT inspections group. Kris has over 12 years
of experience in the oil & gas sector and a mechanical trade background. He holds numerous
American Petroleum Institution and Canadian General Standards Board inspection certifications. He is
also certified by Jurisdictional Regulatory Bodies and has a Red Seal Journeyman trade certification.
He has planned, reviewed, revised, and implemented strategies for many large oil and gas providers.
Kris has a practical and forward thinking approach for above ground piping systems and pressure
equipment. His NDT, mechanical, and operational background brings a broad practical approach to all
projects that present a distinct advantage to trending and monitoring of any pressure equipment,
while considering overall effectivity, usability, and financial considerations.
Chris Auld
IRISNDT
Mr. Chris Auld is a Senior Inspector, Quality Management System Liaison, and Lead Technical Advisor
for IRISNDT inspections group. Chris has over 10 years of experience in the oil & gas sector and a
strong mathematical background. Chris has advanced technical knowledge of inspection practices,
applications, and theories for above ground piping systems and pressure equipment. Chris is a holder
of numerous American Petroleum Institution, National Board, Jurisdictional Regulatory Bodies, and
Canadian General Standards Board inspection certifications. He has planned and implemented
strategies for many large oil and gas providers. His strong technical background brings an analytical
approach to all projects that present a distinct advantage to trending and monitoring of any pressure
equipment.
