ROC300-Series FlashPAC Module

The ROC300-Series FlashPAC Module is used to
meet the program and data storage requirements of
ROC300-Series Remote Operations Controllers
(ROCs). A Canadian custody transfer version of the
FlashPAC is available for the ROC306 and ROC312
units. For more information on the Canadian version,
please refer to Specification Sheet 2.1:F1WC.
The FlashPAC module contains both flash ROM
(programmable Read-Only Memory) and SRAM (Static
Random-Access Memory).
The flash ROM holds both firmware and user
programs. The firmware includes the operating
system, ROC communications protocol, and
application software used by the ROCs. The
application software is configured using the
ROCLINK 800 Configuration Software. The
applications contained in flash ROM include:
American Gas Association (AGA) flow calculations
(includes 1985 and 1992 AGA3 orifice, 1985 and
1992 AGA8 supercompressibility, AGA7 turbine,
plus metric unit conversion).
Proportional, Integral, and Derivative (PID) Loop
Control.
Support for Function Sequence Tables (FSTs).
Local Display Panel enhancement for viewing point
data and modifying configuration parameters.
Radio Power Control.
The firmware is programmed into flash memory at the
factory. The standard version of the FlashPAC can be
reprogrammed in the field, should the need arise.

The SRAM in the FlashPAC holds the historical

database as well as a scratch area for user
programs. The SRAM is structured for storing 87
history points, each holding 35 days of hourly and
daily values.
Table 1 shows how the ROC memory is allocated.
Each memory location range (for example, 00000 to
1FFFF) represents 128 kilobytes of memory.
