TEACHERS ACTIVITY

STUDENTS ACTIVITY

Before we proceed to our next

lesson this afternoon, we
will have first an activity.
Our activity entitled FILL
UP ME all you have to do is
to select the appropriate
letter from the scrambled
letters in order to fulfill
the missing words.
But before that,i will divide
first the class into two
groups. The first group will
be on my right side and the
second group will be on my
left side.
Did you get that clear?

Yes, sir!

Very good!
Let us start!

Lets give a fireworks clap

to the winning group
In doing such activity, what
value did you developed?
Why did you say cooperation?

Thats right!
Any Question?
It seems that you are now
ready for the next lesson.

D. Lesson Proper

( The students will follow)

Cooperation, sir!
Because
we
cooperate
performing the activity

None, sir!

In connection with our

activity that we had a while
ago, our topic for today is
all about commutative binary
operation.
A commutative binary
operation is an operation *
on a set S is said to be
commutative if it is
satisfies the condition:
a*b=b*a for all a, b S.
Who can try to determined if
a binary operation is an
commutative?

Let is S is a set of all

positive integers.
Let a=1, b=2
( Using Addition)
1+2=2+1
3=3 ^ Equal
( Using Subtraction)
1-2=2-1
-1=1
^ Not equal
( Using Multiplication)
1*2=2*1
2=2
^Equal
( Using Division)
12=21
.5=1 ^ Not equal
Therefore, addition and multiplication is
a commutative

Very good!
We can also determine if a
binary operation is a
commutative by using Cayles
table.
Lets check if 3*1=1*3

Draw a diagonal line from the

upper to the lower right
corner of the table.
If the table is symmetric
with respect to this line,
the table is commutative.
Any question?

None, sir!

E. Application
In our real life situation,
who can give an example of
commutative?
Brushing your teeth and
combing your hair
Very good!
What else?
Preparing black coffee
without sugar
Brilliant!

F. Generalization
To sum up our lesson this
afternoon. What is our topic
all about?
Our topic is all about
commutative binary operation
Very good!
What is a commutative binary
operation?
It is binary operation * on a
set S is said to be
commutative if a*b=b*a for
all a,b S

Excellent!
Any question regarding to our
lesson for today?
None. Sir!
G. Evaluation
On a 1/2 sheet of paper.
Determine whether the
following activities are
considered a commutative?
1. Brushing your teeth and
combing your hair
2. Following the command
forward march in a military
parade
3. Putting a tape in a
cassette & switching it on
4. Preparing black coffee
without sugar.
5. Signing your name and
address

H. Assignment
Give at least 10 statement of
a commutative

1.Commutative
2.Not commutative
3.Not commutative
4.Commutative
5.Not commutative
