Dear Parish Family,

During the coming week Sharon will be away on annual leave. There
will be no guarantee to office hours for the week. So if you wouldnt
mind being patient when accessing the Parish office I would be very
grateful. If you have to leave a message I can guarantee that we will
get back to you in a timely fashion. Urgent matters will get priority,
thats sensible I think. My mobile is in the newsletter.
It is probably timely to just mention again that the office hours have
changed in recent weeks. As you know both Greg and Sharon are
employed for particular tasks and have only a limited number of
hours to devote to those tasks and to the parish in their employed
capacity. They are very generous in their membership of the parish
as parishioners but we should work hard not to abuse that
generosity. If it is work related but not urgent and can wait till the
next working day please ring them during the advertised office
hours. If it cant wait till the next day make contact with me. Fingers
and toes crossed I should be able to help or at the very least leave
them a note.
The hours of opening in the office are important for maintaining
both respect for their positions and the requirement of a just wage,
for a just days work (Rerum Novarum, Leo XIII 1891)
That said of course my hours are slightly more fluid after the office
closes and you are welcome to contact the parish any time should
you have a need. For emergencies there is a mobile number and I
hope that anyone who has a need for help and assistance wouldnt
hesitate to make contact. If I cant help I can usually find someone
who can. The mobile number is in the newsletter. When dialing the
Parish office you will encounter some options for leaving messages
including a message bank for each member of the staff and of
course the Priest!
Regards,
Greg

Genesis 2:18-24
The Lord creates woman.
Responsorial Psalm
Response: May the Lord
bless us all the days of our
lives.

Gospel Acclamation
Alleluia, alleluia!
If we love one another,
God will live in us in
perfect love.
Alleluia!

Second Reading

Gospel

Hebrews 2:9-11

Mark 10:2-16

Jesus was made low to

taste death for all people.

Let the children come to me.

First Reading
Wisdom 7:7-11

Second Reading
Hebrews 4:12-13

Gospel Reading
Mark 10:17-30

You never crossed waters or slept in a boat,

But sailors who struggled to keep ships afloat
Turned to you Mary and asked you to be
A light on their journeys, the Star of the Sea.
Refrain
Ave Maria, Star of the Sea,
guide me to Jesus, show Him to me,
Ave Maria, Star of the Sea,
guide me to Jesus, show Him to me.
The Church, like the boat of St Peter goes forth
To bring the Good News to the south or the north
Sometimes we worry, way out on the deep
Is Jesus still with us? Is Jesus asleep? (R)
Mary, we go on our journey of life
It's highs and its lows and its joy and its strife
All that we ask when our journeys are done
Is to share in the glory of your blessed Son. (R)
