Civil Service Exam Passing Rate 2015
All CSC exam professional and sub-professional; Paper and Pencil and ComputerAssisted Test require a passing rate of 80%.

I honestly didnt find the exam so difficult. However, I admit the time was almost
not enough compared to other exams. I can say that anyone with good English and
Filipino vocabulary and grammar usage and anyone who is good in Math and has
analytical skills can ace the exam. One very effective tip to pass it is to review very
well. Dont spend too much time in answering one number because the time limit is
not generous.
No calculator is allowed so dont stress and just enjoy answering and computing the
numerical questions. Never lose focus and understand what you are reading on the
Reading and Comprehension questions or you might panic. The key to pass the CSC
examination is to relax and enjoy answering all the questions. One of the most
important things to do before the exam is prepare for it. How would you prepare for
it? REVIEW!
Thats why we created this website to share a free online reviewer for the Civil
Service Exam. We will teach you the tips on how to choose the best answer to a
hard question. If youre not so good in English. Dont worry. If youre not so good in
Math, dont be ashamed. If you are willing to learn and review, you can pass it. You
can even get an awesome rate of 90 and above.
Effective Tips in taking the Civil Service Exam
The aim and purpose of this free online Civil Service reviewer is to pass it in one
take so we can include the following effective tips for you to finish and ace the
exam. We already know the scope and coverage of the exam and the passing rate
which is 80%. Getting 95 and above will be very impressive and that would surely
be an excellent record. If you are aiming for that rate, honey you should really be
remembering these tips:
Effective Tips in Passing the Civil Service Exam

Take time to review or self-review days before the exam so you are wellprepared. Remember Preparation could only take you so far. Reviewing will
also sharpen up your knowledge and will add confidence in passing the exam.
It will also allow you to rehearse answering hard and unfamiliar questions.

Make sure you know your Testing Center already. Spend some time before
the exact day to visit your Testing Center and Room Assignment so you will
know where to go on the exam day. You can avoid being late too.

Eat your favorite breakfast before going to the Testing Center. A satisfied
tummy creates a healthy mind. Besides, you need enough energy in a halfday-exam. Believe me, it is not only time consuming, it is also energy
consuming because it is a brain workout.

Dont be late. Come earlier like 40 minutes before the time of the exam. It
will relax and prepare you well.

Dont forget to write your Examination Number and shade the appropriate
circles corresponding to your complete Name. Just imagine if you have
answered all the questions and youre so sure to the moon and back youre
going to be a Career Service Professional so soon but you forgot your name.
Too much excitement is not so good.

Follow Instructions Carefully yeah that includes listening to your

instructor. Listen to what he/she will say. They will always tell you what to fill
out and what not to fill out. They will also tell you what subject you will take
and what time you need to finish on that subject.

Dont open the Test Booklet until the instructor told you so. Likewise, dont
return the Test Booklet until the instructor told you so.

Shade the circles corresponding to your answers. Dont over

shade and dont halfly shade for that matter. There may be excess
numbers, if the time is nearly finished and there are still unanswered numbers,
make sure you only shade until the last number of the last question. Some
people shade all the items not knowing that this is excessive. You would end
up failing.
Follow specific direction and instruction in a given test.

Never leave an item blank unless the given instruction directs you
accordingly.

Shade lightly and erase gently to avoid damaging the answer sheet.
Sometimes we cant avoid erasing something, we must erase as gentle as
possible and shade our chosen answer.

Make sure you have extra pencils and that they are already sharpened to
avoid sharpening them again and again. Remember, time in the exam is vital.

Avoid too much sharpened and pointed pencils because they might damage
your answer sheet. It will be easier for you to shade a circle too if your pencil is
not too pointed.

Time is really pressuring so make sure you have done your Restroom
rituals before the exam. Make sure you have all your pencils prepared. Dont
spend too much time on a hard question because time is really just enough.

Again, never leave an item unanswered. Go back to those questions you

skipped and choose the best reasonable and educated answer.

Relax and enjoy the exam. Avoid panicking because it can only worsen
things. If you relax and enjoy the exam, it will make you happy and it will
condition your brain.

Pray before and after the exam. It always does wonders!

How to Pass the Civil Service Exam in the Philippines in One Take

You can pass the Professional Civil Service exam easily in one take if you follow the
tips I am sharing in this post. It is also known as Career Service Exam. I took the
examination myself and successfully passed it without cramming my brains out and
burning the midnight oil. I had a humble grade of 82.97 and that was not my best
shot because taking the exam was just a spur of the moment that time I was
working in the government.
And yes, the CSC Professional Eligibility in the Philippines is one of the requirements
to be working to many government offices and agencies like GSIS, SSS, BIR etc. If
you passed it, you can even be eligible to apply as a police officer and join the PNP.
There are so many benefits of being a civil service eligible professional. Make your
schedule now and you will love the result.

Tips on how to pass the Civil Service Exam a.k.a. Career Service Exam
Remember, there is also available exam forSub-professional Career Service exam
but I recommend you take the Professional level right away since you know you
can anyway. Also these things Im going to share here are just tips. Im NOT going to
give answers or reviewers for the exam here okay. You can either choose Paper
and Pencil Test (PPT) orComputer-Assisted Test (CAT). I did the PPT since I
had the test in my province.
Apply early before taking the exam. The Civil Service Commission always posts
their announcement for the dates of Professional and Sub-Professional examination
schedule. They give exam twice or thrice a year. Apply early to avoid the rush and
deadline. This will give you enough time to relax and review.
Review and refresh your knowledge. There is a book Reviewer for the CSC
Exam available for all National Bookstore. I bought mine. Its orange. Perhaps it has
another version or edition right now. I suggest you buy one. It would really sharpen
up your mind and refresh your knowledge. The book also contains instructions
about taking the CSC test. It covers all subjects for both Career Service
Professional and Sub-Professional so its worth it.
Relax. It is so important to relax and breathe calmly in taking the exam. The exam
covers many topics and your common sense and logic will be used so much.
Panicking wont wake your stock knowledge up. Besides, stressing and panicking
would distract your mood.
Go to the bathroom before the exam starts. They only allow a certain time for
going out the room so it is important to do your bathroom rituals before the test
starts. Remember, every second counts.
Enjoy the quiz. I honestly enjoyed the exam and I didnt even feel I took one. It felt
like playing Sudoku game in the ipad and reading some blog posts. The test covers
the following and its really just the same as taking an entrance exam in college.

English and Filipino vocabulary

grammar and correct usage

paragraph organization

reading comprehension

analogy and logic

numerical reasoning

clerical reasoning, functions and procedures

general information questions (about Philippine Constitution; Code of

Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and
Employees, peace and human rights issues, environmental protection)

Have some sweets while you do the quiz. I confess I was eating Cadbury mini
chocolates (they are like candies) at some parts of the exam especially on that logic
and analogy part. I also needed sweets to wake up my logic doing the grammar and
vocabulary. There are so many unfamiliar words and you have to really analyze
which is synonymous to what and which not.
Bring extra pencils. Extra pencils can save your time sharpening one. Your time is
precious for the exam not some other extra activities.
Avoid shading excessively. Just shade lightly on the paper and your best answer.
Never shade everything and answer only the items with questions. Never leave a
number unanswered.
80 is the passing rate. Believe in yourself that you can get more than 80. If you
do, youll likely pass it. Can I say you know already if you would pass the test from
the beginning? Its true. The 80 percent know it in their bones already; the 20
percent are just not quite sure.
