Church Planting

Initial Impact:
Intercessory Prayer – Romans 1:9-10. Before ever arriving on the scene, bathe the place in prayer. (What prayer? –
Matthew 9:37-38, Ephesians 6:12, 2 Corinthians 10:3-4 Ephesians 6:18-19). Example of intercessors: Exodus 17:8-
13 – The battle was won by the intercessors (have a prayer team continue to bathe every situation in prayer even when
you finally arrive at the spot).
Evangelism – Acts 17:16-17 – tell the good news to both the religious (undoubtedly anywhere in the world there is some
form of religion being practiced) and the commoners. Continue to do so day by day (result – v. 34). Acts 8:4-8 – full
gospel (results – v. 12).

Resources:
Matthew 6:25-34 – be all about glorifying Jesus and trust God to provide for your needs.

Sound Doctrine:
About God – God is love (1 John 4:7-21), God is triune (2 Corinthians 13:14, Matthew 3:13-16), salvation is found
through Jesus (Acts 4:12, Romans 10:9)
About You – 1 Timothy 1:3-5 – If short time to proclaim sound doctrine then focus on love (love from God through the
cross, love for each other. Use 1 Corinthians 13); and focus on following the Bible as the absolute standard (use
Hebrews 4:12, 2 Timothy 3:16-17); and lastly focus on Old vs. New Covenant – Romans 3.

Raise Disciples:
2 Timothy 2:2 – entrust your time and instruction to reliable men who will other have that same heart to teach others.
Matthew 28:18-20 – teach them to imitate Jesus (Ephesians 5:1-2).
1 Timothy 5:1-2 - if socially acceptable, ensure that you have at least one disciple from each of these four groups (older
man, older woman, younger man, younger woman). This will enable each to be relevant to their respective peer group.
