SYSTEM OUTLINE
NEAX IPSDM/IPSDMR is an IP communication system that uses a compact module. This system uses the
same control, line/trunk, and application processor cards as the NEAX 2000 IPS.
The system also supports the function of the legacy PBX that uses Time Division Switch (TDSW) and can
accommodate legacy terminals.
The illustration below shows the typical system outline.

card) can be mounted besides the CSI card as following example. The CSI card and CSH card
are recommended to mount in the following slots to use the LT ports efficiently.

NOTE 7: Only one PN-M13 (M13) card can be mounted per MC. PN-M13 card should be mounted in
the LT00 or LT01 of MC0-1 due to the front cable connection.
NOTE 8: Only one PN-PW03 (DC/DC PWR) card can be mounted per MC.
NOTE 9: The maximum DC power output of PN-PW03 (DC/DC PWR) card is 500 mA.
When LT card (PN-4CSIA/PN-4CSIA-A/PN-4DLCT/PN-4LDTA/PN-4LLCB/PN-4ODTA*
card) that require the PN-PW03 card is mounted, the sum current from each card to terminals
should be set to less than 500 mA.
PN-4CSIA/PN-4CSIA-A/PN-4DLCT/PN-4LDTA/PN-4LLCB/PN-4ODTA card should be
mounted in the same MC which accommodates PN-PW03.

PRECAUTIONS
Grounding Requirements
The system grounding must have a specific ground resistance and AC noise level. Standard grounding requirements are as shown below:
Communication grounding: Less than 10
Protective ground for MC : Less than 10
NOTE:
The AC ripple on these various grounds should be less than 0.5 Vp-p.
CAUTION
Grounding circuit continuity is vital for safe operation of telecommunication equipment.
Never operate this equipment with the grounding conductor disconnected.
As shown in the following figure, the system grounding should be performed via AC power source.

PRECAUTIONS
Turning Power ON
CAUTION
Do not turn off the PZ-PW131 card on MC1 and MC2 when the system is operating.
(1)
(2)
Turn the SW switches of all the PZ-PW131 cards to ON. First, turn ON MC1 and MC2. Then, turn
ON MC0.
Before turning power off, inspect all line/trunk cards busy lamps to verify that no cards are
operating.
(2)
Turn the SW switches of all the PZ-PW131 cards to OFF. First, turn OFF MC0. Then, turn OFF MC1
and MC2.
CAUTION
If you operate as follows without system data backup after system data setting or service
memory setting (registration of the features such as Call Forwarding and Speed Calling
[Speed Dialing] from a station), the data that has been set is invalid.
You must execute the system data backup before the following operations.
-Turning Off the system
-System Initialization (reset of MP card)
-Changing the MP card to Off-Line Mode
-Changing the MP card to On-Line Mode after system data setting under Off-Line Mode
You can execute the system data backup by the following two ways.
-Executing the system data backup once a day at the time set by CM43 Y=5>00
(If no data is set, the default setting is 3:00 a.m.)
-Executing the system data backup from MAT/CAT by CMEC Y=6>0:0
Do not reset the MP card while SYSD lamp on the MP card is flashing.

SYSTEM INITIALIZATION
SYSTEM INITIALIZATION
There are two methods for System Initialization. The first method is to Clear All Data,
except LEN000 as a CAT terminal, and then program the System Data. The second
method is to use the Resident System Program, which causes the system to configure
itself automatically to the default settings, wherever the line/trunk cards are installed.

Precautions Required
NOTE:
For assigning system data, refer to the NEAX 2000 IPS Command Manual.
CAUTION
Due to the power capacity of RGU on the PN-4LCAA card, maximum 6 stations can be rung at
the same time. If more than 6 stations are rung at the same time, it is possible that the ringing
level is reduced or the ringing is stopped. (In the case of NEAX IPSDM/IPSDMR (6 slot version))
Due to the power capacity of ringer generator card of PZ-PW139, maximum 6 stations can be
rung at the same time. If more than 6 stations are rung at the same time, it is possible that the
ringing level is reduced or the ringing is stopped. (In the case of NEAX IPSDM/IPSDMR (8 slot
version))
Therefore, maximum number of sending ringing per system should be set as 6 by the command
setting (CM42>02: 06). With this command setting, system does not send the ringing to more
than 6 stations per FP at the same time.

NOTE:
PN-4LCAA card provides ringing signal to the station lines connected with PN-4LCAA card itself. By setting the RGU OUT switch to ON (UP position), PN-4LCAA card can also provide
ringing signal to the station lines connected with other LC cards through the BWB.
When you mount two or more PN-4LCAA cards in a MC, only one PN-4LCAA card can provide
the ringing signal through the BWB. If ringing signals are sent from two or more PN-4LCAA
cards through the BWB, it causes collision of ringing signals.
Below shows the example of RGU OUT switch setting when two LC cards are mounted.
