MAKING MANAGEMENT DECISIONS: THE ROLE OF INTUITION
AND EMOTION
In a school setup, it is within the best interest of the teacher to integrate the
current lessons to the things that our students can relate to so it can be layman in
form. Our initial thinking and associating of things to one another may result and
mold into new ideas that can move and fuel forward a current situation or thing.
Perhaps in this article, tweakers and curious-minded creature will only understand
the pleasure intuition brings to us.

In the professional world, microscopic lenses tailor-fitted to our chosen field

are needed to attain an adequate to adept level of knowledge or wisdom to the
career per se. Meritocracy and laddered type of upgrade(promotions) are to be
given once we have achieved a sufficient mastery over the particular position.
Familiarity with the work, how it goes and how fitted are you to the system are the
ones to be considered when we try to dig deep to the waters of our pitch and
eventually when we become managers or administrators of our own, we make
systematic decisions that are supposed to be linear to the logical way of solving a
conflict or problem.

But not all the time we can be logical and rational with our decisions. No
matter how hard we tried, there will always be one or two instances in our life
wherein we gamble to a particular thing or event. As a result we often stumble
and see ourselves in the other end of the line by the inexperience we suffered
from those fast-paced decisions. But really how important intuitions are to our
decision making?

If I will be permitted to relate this article to my profession, probably itll be

the association of decision-making to my piano performance skills. As a jazz pianist,
I am governed with my own set of improvisional licks (licks pertaining to musical
phrase or language. Constant, rapid and reflexed decisions are often the principles
are needed for you to execute it freely. Experience plays a vital role to perfect these
piano jazz skills and usually requires critical and analytical observation among other
great pianists to make your own style of playing (or leadership style in the context
of organization).

Music can be also be related to organization in terms of understanding the

know-how of the system. As a piano student in my college years, I studied formal
classical music enhance my basic foundations regarding piano execution. Upon
mastering the basics, I tried several unsuccessful attempts on thinking out of the
box (jazz). Also in decision making in organization maybe I can say that know first
the rules, the policies, the culture and the way of life in the particular organization
before suggesting your own style.

Personally I found the article really relevant to my personal stand and point of
view. In our daily lives we perform decisions whether at home or in games or in our
other activities. Itll play a vital role to prepare ourselves as we will be managing our
own team, own management or business in the future. Decisions that can be logical
or intuitive in nature blend them together and maybe we can be good at this
particular area.
