Thefollowingdietandhealthprogramwasdevelopedforemployeesand
dependentsofGeneralMotors,Inc.andisintendedfortheirexclusiveuse.
ThisprogramwasdevelopedinconjunctionwithagrantfromU.S.
DepartmentofAgricultureandtheFoodandDrugAdministration.Itwasfield
testedattheJohnsHopkinsResearchCentreandwasapprovedfor
distributionbytheBoardofDirectors,GeneralMotorsCorp.atageneral
meetingonAugust15,1985.GeneralMotorsCorp.whollyendorsesthis
programandismakingitavailabletoallemployeesandfamilies.This
programwillbeavailableatallGeneralMotorsFoodServiceFacilities.Itis
management'sintentiontofacilitateawellnessandfitnessprogramfor
everyone.
Thisprogramisdesignedforatargetweightlossof1017lbsperweek.Itwill
alsoimproveyourattitudesandemotionsbecauseofitscleansingsystematic
effects.
Theeffectivenessofthissevendayplanisthatthefoodeatenburnmore
caloriesthantheygivetothebodyincaloricvalue.
Thisplancanbeusedasoftenasyoulikewithoutanyfearofcomplications.It
isdesignedtoflushyoursystemofimpuritiesandgiveyouafeelingofwell
being.Aftersevendaysyouwillbegintofeellighterbecauseyouwillbe
lighterbyatleast10lbs.Youwillhaveanabundanceofenergyandan

DayTwoAllvegetables.Youareencouragedtoeatuntilyouarestuffedwithalltherawor
cookedvegetablesofyourchoice.Thereisnolimitontheamountortype.Foryourcomplex
carbohydrate,youwillstartdaytwowithalargebakedpotatoforbreakfast.Youmaytopthe
potatowithonepatofbutter.
DayThreeAmixtureoffruitsandvegetablesofyourchoice.Anyamount,anyquantity.No
bananasyet.Nopotatoestoday.
DayFourBananasandmilk.Todayyouwilleatasmanyaseightbananasanddrinkthreeglasses
ofmilk.Thiswillbecombinedwiththespecialsoupwhichmaybeeateninlimitedquantities.
DayFiveTodayisfeastday.Youwilleatbeefandtomatoes.Eattwo10oz.portionsofleanbeef.
HamburgerisOK.Combinethiswithsixwholetomatoes.Ondayfiveyoumustincreaseyour

programasoftenasyoulike,however,itissuggestedthatyouareallowed
twoglassesofwhitewineinadditiontotheinstructionsontheprogram.You
maysubstitutechampagneforwhitewine.Undernocircumstancesareyouto
drinkanyotheralcoholicbeverageswiththeexceptionofbeerwhichis
allowed.Anyliquor(bourbon,vodka,rum)isforbidden.Creamdrinksare
especiallyforbidden.Youmayhaveanoccasionalcordialsuchascremede
mentheorschnapps,butyoumustalwayslimityourselftotwodrinks.Ifyou
wine,drinkonlywinethatday.Ifyouhavebeer,drinkonlybeerthatday,etc.
Alcoholaddsemptycaloriestoyourdiet.However,afterthefirstweekitwill
helpyourdigestionandsettleyourstomach.

Thefollowingsoupisintendedasasupplementtoyourdiet.Itcanbeeaten
anytimeofthedayinvirtuallyunlimitedquantities.Youareencouragedto
consumelargequantitiesofthissoup.
28oz,Water,6LargeOnions,2GreenPeppers,WholeTomatoes(freshor
canned),1HeadCabbage,1BunchCelery,4EnvelopesLiptonOnionSoup
Mix,HerbsandFlavouringasdesired.

AdditionalComments
Vegetablesasmaybetakenintheformofasaladifdesired.Nodressing
exceptmalt,whiteorwinevinegar,squeezedlemon,garlic,herbs.Nomore
thanoneteaspoonofoil.
YouhavebeengivenarecipefortheWONDERSOUPwhichcanbeeatenin
unlimitedquantities.Thissoupisasupplementwhileyouareontheprogram
anditshouldbeapleasuretoeat.Noteveryonelikescabbage,green
peppers,caloryetc.Thisrecipeisnotinflexible.Youmaysubstitute
vegetablesaccordingtoyourtaste.Youmayaddanyvegetablesyoulike:
asparagus,peas,corn,turnips,greenbeans,cauliflower,etc.Trytostayaway
frombeans(lima,pinto,kidney,etc.),however,becausetheytendtobehigh
incalorieseventhoughtheyareverygoodforyou.
