SPECIAL VEHICLE FOR RESCUE FROM HEIGHTS

HOMOLOGATION:
Truck will have certificate of conformity and / or declaration of conformity on their own
responsibility issued under the GD nr.1029 /2008 relating to the marketing of vehicles (European
Directive 98/37/EC Machinery safety). It will also have the CE marking.
GENERAL ORGANIZATION:
The special vehicle designed for intervention and rescue from heights, must be built on a chassis
equipped with a low-pollution engine and fitted with power take off (PTO) to ensure operation of
hydraulic equipment;
The engine of the special vehicle will meet the requirements of the intervention and rescue from
height systems;
Jacking facility with the possibility of leveling; the hydraulic stabilizers allow automatic lifting of
the tires from the ground, bring the truck horizontally, and return to the starting position with the
touch of a button. Withdraw any of stabilizers will be locked automatically once the arm was raised
from their movement position. The lifting of the arm from the movement position will be blocked
until the stabilizers are on the ground. The control system of the jacking facility will be mounted in
the back of the special vehicle. Control system will include a remote control command, which
allows the operator to see hydraulic stabilizers all the time. The jacking system will have two
automatic systems for operation and self control, independent, for safety to ensure the jacking in a
safe configuration. Each lower vertical stabilizer will be equipped with self-aligned foot plate to
spread the load evenly and allow operation over rough terrain.
Turntable rescue cage with telescopic arm: telescopic arm and a folding arm with the working
platform at the top; the turntable rescue cage will have a water flow system and a hydraulic system,
allowing continuous rotation of 360 degrees.
On the rescue cage will be mounted the water supply system of the platform, the supplying with
water will be possible even during the rotation of the rescue cage.
The platform is equipped with necessary technical means for intervention and protection.
The platform will be mounted on pivoting arms with the attachment point at floor level to enable the
rotation in the horizontal plane with minimum of 45 degrees left and 45 degrees right. The central
location of the platform will be indicated on the control panel.

Platform will be made of tubular steel sections profiles, welded and painted. Platform will be
equipped with an overload sensor to provide audible and visual warning on the working panels for
overcoming the cargo. It will also be equipped with a collision sensor to provide additional security.
This system will stop all movements but can be unlocked if necessary.
Firefighting equipment to allow work on the platform with water / foam discharge pipe, fixed on the
platform and with manual discharge pipes;
Command and control installation:
Main working post located at the base of the turntable ladder for executing all maneuvers, including
the possibility of taking over the secondary post controls located on the platform; Main post
incorporates all controls and safety instructions system.
Control panel will be provided with a rotating arm fixed on the rotating platform edge which can
provide convenient operating position with a very good vision, with a blocking system.
Main post will be equipped with an adjustable seat for comfort, even in case of prolonged operation.
The floor of the control post will be made of anti slip aluminum.
Control panel on the rotating platform there will be a switch to select control panel that will execute
operations (the asset);
Secondary control post located on the working platform for executing all maneuvers;
Control Panel of the secondary post from the platform will be identical to the main post control
panel, incorporating all modes of control and guidance of the safety system, thus reducing
considerably the risk of confusion among operators that are under time pressure.
Secondary station control panel shall be provided with niches for railing, to provide a more spacious
working platform. Both control panels (primary and secondary) will be equipped as standard with
minimum warning devices, indicating and monitoring, all marked by clear icons for easy
recognition as follows:

Control levers of the joystick for each movement;

button for starting and stopping the engine;
Button for the engine spare battery for hydraulics system;
emergency stop button;
button for action of the arm of the vehicle in the march position;

Visual indicators for ground pressure of the stabilizers;

charts containing information on certain movements restricted or allowed based on

information obtained in real time about setting arms;

Starting the engine from the control panels will be blocked if the vehicle gearbox is in neutral.
Truck will be equipped with a system operated from both control panels, which will allow the arms
to be raised and working platform brought down to earth, even if there is no hydraulic pressure in
the system.
Communications facility between primary and secondary posts and between the two posts and each
crew member; Must also include a voice amplification equipment for transmission of messages.
Safety device to ensure sound signal when approaching safety margin positions and blocking
movement when reaching that limit positions;
Additional lighting installation to allow the normal visibility conditions both for control and
measuring devices, as well as at the intervention zone.

cabin;
