ACHIEVEMENTS
Above 3 million people in 39 districts (compared to 30 in 2012) are more
resilient due to local DRR interventions Over 820,000 people (of which 385,000 female) directly benefitted by 249
new schemes (safe drinking water, embankments, cyclone shelters, sanitation,
resilient habitat, etc.);
More than 80,000 people (25,000 female) benefited from short term
employment generated by LDRRF scheme implementation;
245,744 families received livelihood support (e.g. cash for work, training,
adaptive cropping, irrigation facilities, skill based training, etc.);
Construction of 153 km long embankment, saving more than 40,000 hec of
cultivable land;
Reduced water collection time of 36,000 women installation of 300 DTW &
200 RWH;
30,000 women & children benefited from construction of 5,000 hygienic
toilets

LDRRF Project Progress Review Committee
On request of CDMP, the then MoFDM through a notification 19 Sept. 2011
formed a 7 member committee with Joint Secretary (DM) as Chair. On 21 Nov
2013, MoDMR have reformed the Committee with Addl. Secretary (Admin) as
Chair with Addl. Secretary (DM), JS (DM), JS (Relief), Director (KABIKHA) of DDM,
Dy. Chief & Sr. Ast. Chief of MoDMR, representatives from UNDP & CDMP.
