Twenty-Ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Todays Gospel says that anyone who aspires to greatness must become a servant to
others. Gods servants do not try to manipulate or control; their main concern is what
is in the best interests of those they serve. Like Jesus, a good Christian parent or
spouse comes not to be served but to serve and give ones life for others.

Priesthood Sunday on October 25. It is a day set aside to celebrate the importance
of the gift of priesthood in the life of the Church. It is a time for us to reflect on the
ministry that our priests share with us when we gather at the Table of the Lord
when we call in our time of need. Consider sharing a personal note or card of
thanks. Together we pray that many of our young people will be inspired by the
ministry and witness of our priests. May their hearts be open to hearing and
responding to Gods call in their lives. For more information on the priesthood, visit
www.clepriesthood.com.
