1.Switching off the alarm system if it


is triggered accidentally
Unlock the vehicle.
Unlocking:
Press button 1.
Vehicle is unlocked.
! If you unlock the vehicle using the
remote control and do not open a
door within 1 minute, the vehicle will
be locked again automatically.

Switch ignition on.
Opening the convertible top
Pull rocker switch back.
Closing the convertible top
Push rocker switch forward.
The message displayed by the
on-board computer will disappear
as soon as the convertible top
has reached its final position or
once the door windows are in the
desired position.

Helpful tips
Remote control standby
The remote control standby function
switches off after 7 days if the vehicle is
not unlocked or started within this time.
In this case, unlock the drivers door
at the lock.
Leave the door closed in order to prevent
the alarm system from being triggered.
Press button 1 on the remote control.
The remote control is activated again.

Immobilizer
If you leave the ignition on for more than
two minutes without starting the engine,
the immobilizer will be reactivated.
Deactivating:
Switch ignition off (position 3).
Start the engine.

Emergency operation
The doors, the luggage compartment lid,
the filler flap, the lifting/sliding roof, sliding
glass roof (Targa) and the convertible top
can be operated manually in the event of
a technical fault.

Tools, etc.
A tool kit with towing lug and tire sealant
can be found in the tool box in the luggage
compartment.

Servicing
The addresses and telephone numbers
of Porsche dealerships are shown in the
dealer directory.

A continuous tone sounds
when the distance becomes
less than one foot.

Tiptronic S is a 5-speed
automatic transmission:

911 Carrera 4, 911 Carrera 4S, 911 Targa 4, 911 Targa 4S:
approx. 17.7 U.S. gallons (67 liters), including approx. 2.6 U.S. gallons (10 liters) reserve.
Fuel quality: Premium fuel with 98 RON (93 CLC or AKI).
! If fuels with octane numbers of 95 RON (90 CLC or AKI) are used, the engines knock
control automatically adapts the ignition timing.
The engine is designed for oils with ACEA, API and ILSAC specifications, with the following
viscosity values: Above -13F/-25C: SAE OW-40, 5W-40, 5W-50.
Below -13F/-25C: SAE OW-40.
Use only engine oils approved by Porsche. If in doubt ask your authorized Porsche dealer for
Porsche tested and approved all-season oils.

Car care
Please observe the following:
High-pressure cleaning equipment may damage the convertible top, tires, logos, emblems,
painted surfaces, the generator and the sensors of the ParkAssist.
Maintain a minimum distance of 21in. (50 cm) and do not point the jet directly onto the
aforementioned components.
Before cleaning in a car wash:
Ask the operator about wheel widths and convertible top and special accessories such as
roof-mounted equipment, external antenna, fixed rear spoiler and highly polished wheels.

! The power transmission and chassis
control systems are automatically
adapted to the requirements of off-road
operation in the off-road driving programs Low Range (with reduction) and
High Range (without reduction).
Z The driving programme can be
changed by briefly pressing rocker
switch D in steps.

Selecting a sportier driving style:
E Sport button
Z A sportier chassis and engine setting is
made possible by briefly pressing this
button. The sports exhaust system is
also activated (if present).
Switching on PASM:
F PASM buttons (Porsche Active
Suspension Management)
Z You can select different chassis settings by briefly pressing these buttons.
It is possible to choose between comfort, normal or sport settings when
the ignition is switched on and while
driving.

! Terrain level and special terrain level
are prohibited on public roads.
