My hero is

Louise Bennett Coverly


(Miss Lou)
Miss Louise Bennett coverly is my hero because she
brought history to Jamaica and showed most Jamaicans
how close Jamaicas history as close to Africa.
Louise Bennett coverly was born September, 7, 1919
Kingston, Jamaica. Coverly was a Jamaican poet,
folklorist, educator and writer. Coverly was famous for
writing her poems is Jamaican patois, when she did this
she was trying to show that the country is like other
countries and has a language an how that language was
unique because it wasnt a language you can learn in
schools like English or French or any language like that
but it was a language that if you were born there you
would learn.
Coverly was also very popular for creating very
popular folk songs such as long time gal , Sammy plant
piece a corn, carry me ackee go a linstead market, and
many more.
Louise Bennett coverly was appointed cultural
ambassador by Jamaicas government. She was also

made member of the most excellent order of the British


Empire this was for her work in Jamaican theater and
literature. Louise Bennett past away august 9 2006 in
Toronto, Canada and was buried in Kingston Jamaica
national heroes park.
Louise Bennett coverly is my hero cause she was a
person who used a language to show people that it is one
of the many that is in the history of the country.

Chinua Achebe

Chinua Achebe was born November 16, 1930, Ogidi,


Anambra, Nigeria. Chinua Achebe was a Nigerian author who
would write about the Apartheid and what was going on during
the Apartheid to show people in America how native Africans
was being affected by the apartheid. The apartheid was a time in
South Africa where the British would rule the apartheid lasted
1948 to 1994.
Chinua Achebe came to America when he was 27 to have his
first book published. Achebe got his education at the university of
London and the university of inban the main reason Achebe
came here to publish a book which was thing fall apart.
Achebe came to America with no family and he had no
children. Chinua Achebe was very popular for writing about
Africa and how the apartheid had effected Africa and for
reaching out to American buy immigrating to America.
Chinua Achebe helped America by show that the apartheid was
killing away a country that needed help and ways that America
can help south Africa. During the apartheid.
Chinua Achebe was awarded man booker international prize,
peace prize of the German trade, and st Louis litary award
Chinua Achebe died on march 21 2013 Boston massehets.
Chinua Achebe was very popular for be a Nigerian immigrant
and wrote about the apartheid and how he apartheid was not
helping the country at all.
