difficulties and gejola, both for teenagers themselves and for their parents. Often due
to ignorance of parents about the state of adolescence is the reality can lead to clashes
and misunderstandings between teenagers with parents that is in the family or the

so that results in a variety of behavioral disorders such as substance abuse or juvenile
delinquency or other mental disorders. Parents will often be confused or helpless in
the face of teenage child development and increase the severity of this disorder

To avoid this and be able to determine a reasonable attitude in dealing with teenagers,
we all expected to understand adolescent development and its distinctive features
found on the developments. With this it is hoped that we (who are adults) for
understanding of the changes that happen to children and adolescents at the time he

The change from childhood to adolescence to bring change in an individual. If the
child during his role as an individual who behaves and acts that tend to always be
dependent and dilingungi, then in adolescence he was expected to be able to stand
alone and he was willing independent.
But actually he still needed protection and they can depend on from their parents. The
contradiction between the desire to behave as an individual capable of standing alone
with a desire to remain dependent and protected, will cause a conflict on adolescent
self. Due to this conflict, in adolescent anxiety and worries arise that will color the
attitudes and behavior. He became easily offended, angry, disappointed and desperate.

various needs of her encouragement.

everything that exists in the group. A sense of esprit de corps is closely interwoven
with and sometimes leads to the action that blindly.

formation of self-identity, an individual has to give answers to the questions: who,
what and where I was able to place my role.
He has to understand himself, his abilities and weaknesses and the role of himself in
his environment. Before the self-identity is formed, in general there will be a crisis of
identity. Every teenager should be able to get through the crisis and to find his
identity.

an important role of environmental factors of the user agent. Environmental factors

provide influence on teenagers and sparked the emergence of motivation for substance
abuse. In other words, the emergence of substance abuse problems triggered by the
interaction between environmental influences and adolescent psychological condition.
In order to guide and direct the development of adolescents, fields of interest are:
1. Attitudes and behavior.
2. Emotional
3. Mental - intellectual
4. Social
5. Formation of self-identity.
What actions should and can be done, the outline will be described below:
6. Attitudes and behavior
The purpose of a youth development in general is to change attitudes and behavior,
from a childish way into a more mature manner. Childish attitude as selfish
(egocentric), always rely on other people, want immediate gratification, and are
unable to control his actions, should be changed to be able to pay attention to
someone else, standing alone, adjusting to the fact that there is a desire to control his
actions and thus do not harm themselves and others.
For that needed attention and guidance from the parents. Parents should be able to
give attention, give a chance for teens to try his abilities. Give rewards and avoid
criticism and censure.
7. Emotional
To gain emotional freedom, the teenager tried to sever emotional ties with parents, he
must be trained and learn to choose and determine his own decision. This effort is
usually accompanied by rebellious or defiant behavior. In this sense the parents are
expected to take no action that is oppressive, but try to guide him gradually. Udahakan
do not create other environmental atmosphere, which is sometimes
menjerumuskannya. Children to be naughty, defiant and even use of narcotics (drug
abuse).
8. Mental - intellectual

understanding the advantages and disadvantages him. That way he can distinguish
between the ideals and dreams with actual reality.
At first thought the teens are influenced by fantasy, in line with the increasing ability
to think abstractly. Abstract thoughts that are often not in accordance with the reality
that exists and can lead to disappointment and despair. To address this need parental
assistance in growing the understanding of the abilities of self based on the abilities of
these. Do not burden the youth with various kinds of hopes and dreams that may be
difficult to achieve.
9. Social
To achieve the goals of development, adolescents must learn to get along with
everyone, whether or not same age peers, or the same type or different types. The
existence of obstacles in this regard can cause him to choose just one social
environment such as a particular group and this can lead to substance abuse. As we all
know that the typical adolescent is the presence of close ties with the group.
This raises the idea, how to keep teens have character and attitude and sense (Image:
discipline and loyalty to friends, parents and ideals. In addition, we as parents and
teachers, should be able to foster an Budi Pekerti / Akhlaq which lofty and noble, a
