Digital Storytelling
Digital Storytelling, is a modern way to use multiple media to tell stories. This 2-day hands-on workshop will equip
teachers with the knowledge on how to teach their students to tell stories using different types of media like
still and digital photos, videos, sound and digital graphics. It will touch on different topics including introduction
to film production, scriptwriting, sequence treatment, basic camera functions, framing, continuity, lighting
principles, basic video editing and rendering.
Digital storytelling is being practiced in neighborhood community centers, schools, libraries and businesses, by
novice technology users to those with advanced skills. In the field of education, teachers and their students,
from early childhood classrooms through graduate school, are using digital storytelling in many different content
areas and across a wide range of grade levels. Students can be taught to use this storytelling method to heighten
awareness and participation in addressing personal, community and social issues.

Intel Transforming Learning: Introduction to Use of Tablets in the Classroom and Digital Learning
Fundamentals
The first day of the workshop is designed for teachers who are about to implement tablets in a mobile teaching
and learning environment. It will present instructional strategies, educational tools, and classroom management
techniques with tablets. Teachers are expected to gain familiarity with tablet features and functionality;
instructional design and workflow in a tablet classroom; anytime, anywhere learning access to online tools and
resources; classroom management topics and solutions; and collaborative activities with mobile apps.
The second day of the workshop is for teachers new to designing digital learning. While teachers may be familiar
with tools for personal productivity, this course focuses on strategies for integrating technology into digital
teaching and learning. Participants complete required and optional activities through which they learn important
concepts, try different digital tools, and use their learning to develop resources to use with their students. It will
cover four core modules focusing on the 21st century skills of communication, collaboration, creativity, and
critical thinking.

high-level instructions or depending too much on resources coming from central office (e.g. budget, training and
equipment) ; (c) provide tools to develop ICT in Education plans and project proposals; and (d) encourage
participants to turn their vision into action by giving examples of best practices.
The workshop discusses six topics: (i) ICT in Education Essentials; (ii) Assessment of the Current Situation; (iii)
Planning; (iv) Project Development; (v) Best Practices; and (vi) Partnerships. Participants gather by school or
