How many people were killed in the earthquake?

12/1

Did you hear about the earthquake on the Philipines?

No, what happened?
There was massive earthquake which resulted in tidal waves.
I supposed the waves caused great havoc and untold damage.
They did. The water rushed inland as far as five hundred metres. All
the villages were swept away when the tided waves swept in and out
within minutes of the earthquake. Most of the villagers were killed by
these waves. They rolled over low-lying areas and washed away
hundreds of homes and left the land devastated.
What about the death toll?
At the moment more than three thousand people were confirmed dead
and two thousand are still missing.
There will probably be more when rescues dig through collapsed
buildings.
And dont forget ,about thirty thousand people were made homeless
And have to spend the night shivering in hastily built shelters.
How sad.

About two thousand.

About three thousand.

Over two thousand.

Read the poem carefully. Then, choose the best answer for the questions that follow.
The Lake Isle of Innisfree
I will arise and go now, and go to Innisfree,
And a small cabin there, of clay and wattles made.
Nine bean-rows will I have there, a hive for the honey bee
And live alone in the bee-loud glade.
And shall have some peace there, for peace comes dropping slow,
Dropping from the veils of the morning to where the cricket sings;
There midnights all a glimmer, and noon a purple glow
And evening full of linnets wings.
I will arise and go now, for always night and day
I hear lake water lapping with low sounds by the shore
While I stand on the roadway, or on the pavements grey
I hear it in the deep hearts core.

Of Bunga Telur and Bally Shoes

One week before the wedding, three quarters of Jamals clan
converged on his mothers house. The cow that was to be the lauk for
the day was kept ready under the rambutan tree. Jamal thanked it
and said sorry it had to die. He had a soft spot for animals. A
temporary shed for cooking was being constructed. Huge kawahs,
were being scrubbed clean for cooking. All food for the guests would
be cooked in the kawahs. The womenfolk were busy preparing a
Master List of Things To Do and Who Was in Charge.
They were generally ordering the men about, Clean the
kawahs!, Buy this!, Fix the curtains!, Mop the floor!, Erect the
tents! etc.etc. Jamal suddenly felt that these Kelantanese ladies
