Read the passage below and answer the question that follows.
There is no doubt that eco-tourism is big business. Conservative estimates suggest
that eco-tourism now accounts for as much as 20% of all tourism. Increasingly, tourists
want to visit areas of significant natural beauty without causing any damage to the
environment. However, how can places of great beauty, supporting exotic and often
fragile wildlife and fauna, stay unspoiled once tourists arrive in any great numbers?
Commercial-scale tourism requires services and facilities that ultimately change
and harm the natural balance in the places tourists visit. Many holiday companies are
more than happy to label a holiday an environmentally friendly one - even when it is not.
Eco-tourism is about holidays that are completely sustainable. Environmentalists are also
concerned that eco-tourism threatens the very thing it is meant to be protecting.
Scientists worry that eco-tourism and wild animals simply do not mix. Many studies
suggest that eco-tourism may now be harming the very animals it seeks to help.
