sensitive and determined. When he saw Mr. Edward Hyde trampling on the little
girl, Edie, he was furious. He confronted Mr. Hyde. He was determined that Mr.
Hyde should pay for what he had done. So to teach Mr. Hyde a lesson and to

Answer Key (High Achievers)

The novel that I chose is Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde written by Robert Louis
Stevenson. It is a story about a scientist who found a drug that enables him to
live a double life; Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. The theme revolves around the
struggle between the good and evil. In this story, there is a man Dr. Jekyll who is
pleasant, kind and respectable. However, he has another part of him, Mr. Hyde
who is evil, rude and hateful. Dr. Jekyll takes some potion and turns into Mr.
Hyde. Dr. Jekyll enjoys being evil whenever he wanted but later he could not
control it. In the end he kill himself as Mr. Hyde. The theme of the struggle
between the good and evil shows that every man has good and bad qualities in
him. It must be controlled or it will destroy us
