Figure 1
Based on the figure above, it shows that majority of students (80%) whose age is
below 19 years old had their meals at the cafeteria, followed by 15% of students whose age is
between 19 to 22 years old and 5% of students whose age is above 23 years old.
From the pie chart above, it is clearly shown that majority of students whose age is
below 19 years old had their meals at the cafeteria compared to the students whose age is
between 19 to 22 years old or above 23 years old. This probably because students whose age
is above 23 years old will be more prefer to have their meal outside rather than at the
cafeteria.

rate it as above average.
From the pie chart above, it shows that majority of students rate the quality of food at

From the pie chart above, it shows that most of the students spent below RM10 per
day the cafeteria. In other words, least number of students spent above RM20 per day at the
cafeteria. This might probably because most of the students found that it is not worth to have

variety of choices for the food. Besides that, minorities of students prefer to eat in the
cafeteria because students do not need to walk for a long distance as compared to eating
outside the campus.

to see cafeteria sell fast food in the future, followed by Korea food (15%), sushi (15%) and

3.Conclusion
This survey has proven that the cafeteria food level are only at average. This shows
that the quality and quantity has to be improved so that students will continue buying food in
the cafeteria. Most of the student spent between RM11 to RM20.In addition, students prefer
eating mix rice. It has a variety of food to choose from. Sandwich is the least voted food that
students eat in the cafeteria. This is due to either the price or the quality of the food.
Normally, students prefer to eat outside the Sunway university rather than cafeteria food
because students prefer the quality and quantity sold outside instead of the cafeteria and also
there are many food shops nearby the university. It is voted that cafeteria food is consider
expensive because the amount they served in a dish is very little and not worth paying for it.
Last but not least, students hope to see more of fast food sold in the cafeteria.

4.Recommendations
It is recommended that cafeteria food should be focused on the quality and quantity
instead of only making profit. Average quality of food is rated majority. This is not a good
sign. Therefore, the quality should be improved so that students will tend to buy food from
cafeteria by using healthy ingredients, make sure the kitchen is clean, train the workers to
cook better product and workers should increase the quantity in a dish. Next, it is advisable to
reduce the price of the food sold to encourage student to purchase more. Other than that,
sandwiches and noodle are the least food bought by students. It is recommended that the
sandwiches are from fresh ingredients and also have promotion to increase the sales of the
sandwiches and noodle. To encourage students to eat in cafeteria, hygiene and cleanliness of
the cafeteria should be the improved. Moreover, fast food is requested by most students
because fast food are normally students favourite meal and it is consider worth buying. Fast
food stalls should be install in the cafeteria. In addition, GST has also been implemented and
this caused the price increase affecting the students to feel that the price is too high.
Therefore, the price should be reduce. Lastly, it is recommended by students to install air
condition in the cafeteria due to the hot weather.
