Topreventpersonalinjuryordeath,performthefollowing:
Parkthemachineonasmooth,levelsurface.
Lowertheworktooltothegroundandengagetheparkingbrake.
Stoptheengineandremovethekey.
Blockthewheelsandinstallthesteeringframelock.
Thepilotcontrolvalveisanelectrohydraulicvalvethatcontrolsthepilotoilpressuretoeachendofthemaincontrolvalvespools.When
thepilotcontrolvalveisactivated,pilotoilpressureissuppliedtooneendofthespoolinthemaincontrolvalve.Next,thespoolthen
movesawayfromthepressurizedchamberinthemaincontrolvalve.
Thisproceduremeasurestheoilpressureinachamberofthemaincontrolvalveinordertoassistintroubleshootingtheimplement
hydraulicsystem.
1. EnsurethatthetransmissioncontrolisintheNEUTRALposition.
2. Engagetheparkingbrake.
3. Connectthesteeringframelock.

4. Releasethepressureinthehydraulicsystem.

tothefitting(9)ontheendcapofthemaincontrolvalve.Installthehosetothetee.Theteewillneedtobeplacedoneachendcapin
ordertocheckeachpilotpressure.Thepressuretapsforthe824GIIWheelTractorarelisted:

(5)Raiseblade
(6)Lowerblade

Note:The825GIISoilCompactorisequippedwithliftandtilt.The826GIILandfillCompactorisequippedwithliftonly.
Note:Assemblethe8T3613Fittingandthe6V4143Couplertothe1777860Hose.
7. Attachthehoseassemblywith8T0857PressureGaugetothepressuretapthatisinstalledonthemaincontrolvalve.
8. Starttheengineandwarmthehydraulicoiltoanormaloperatingtemperatureofapproximately49to65C(120to150F).
9. Runtheengineatlowidle.Movetheimplementcontrollevertoamaximumstrokepositioninordertopressurizethechamberthatis
beingtested.Recordthegaugereading.Repeattheprocedureforeachchamberofthemaincontrolvalve.
10. Thepressurereadingsfortheliftfunctionshouldbeatleast1475kPa(215psi).Thispressureisrequiredinordertoshiftthespools
inthemaincontrolvalvetotheFULLFLOWposition.
11. Thepressurereadingsfortheliftfunctionshouldbeatleast2375kPa(345psi).Thispressureisrequiredinordertoshiftthespools
inthemaincontrolvalvetotheFLOATposition.
12. Thepressurereadingsforthetipfunctionandthetiltfunctionshouldbeatleast1245kPa(180psi).Thispressureisrequiredinorder
toshiftthespoolsinthemaincontrolvalvetotheFULLFLOWposition.
Note:Apressurereadingonthelowsideofthetoleranceforthespecificationsmaystillbetoolow.Thepressurethatisrequiredto
shiftaspoolvariesslightlywiththeforceofthespringsthatareinstalledinthevalve.Ifthereadingforthepilotchamberpressureis
onthelowsideofthetolerance,itmaybenecessarytoincreasethepressure.
Ifthepressurereadingisnotwithinspecifications,thereareseveralpossiblecauses:
Proportionalsolenoidsrequirecalibration.
Pressurereductionvalvesforthepilotsystemneedtobereplaced.
Thepilotpumpisworn.Thepumpneedstobereplaced.
