ABSTRACT
THE IGNORANT TEACHER'S POLITICS: RANCIERE'S LESSON
Jacques Ranciere's The ignorant teacher book is a sagacious text of philosophy that, from the exhumation a singular character of the
history of education-Joseph Jacotot- stands out a fundamental political issue: equality. Education, philosophy and politics knit the
complex woof of this bombastic and provoking text. In this paper, there is an attempt to show how Ranciere disturbs the basis of
the interpretations that make of equality the final target of the apparently emancipating politics and to what extend it is open the
question on how to carry out an equality politics not only in education but also in general.
