USER MANUAL
SUNWAY CONNECT
1. GENERAL INFORMATION
This manual describes how to use the Sunway Connect service to establish safe connection to one or
multiple Sunway Bridge dataloggers running on Windows Xp/Vista/7.
The Sunway Connect exploits the open-source OpenVPN software for the connections to Elettronica
Santernos servers. Please visit http://openvpn.net/ for more details.
At the time when this manual was written, the OpenVPN version was Community edition 2.2.2.
1.1.
Pre-requirements
The Sunway Connect exploits the Internet connection for communications. The following requirements must
be met:
- A DNS server is required. It must be properly operating and easily reachable
- No communications proxies are to be present
- The TCP and UDP traffic towards Santernos servers is not to be filtered (public network
77.238.26.128/26)
Please note that the Sunway Connect uses network 10.232.0.0/17 to address the clients; therefore, conflicts
with the pre-existing networks may occur. Under no circumstances may Elettronica Santerno be considered
as responsible for these conflicts, that are client side and must be solved as such.
Because the Sunway Connect is designed to enable remote communications with one or multiple Sunway
Bridge dataloggers, these are to be properly connected to the Internet and are to be reachable by Elettronica
Santernos servers (please refer to the Sunway Bridge datalogger User Manual for details).
Elettronica Santerno reserves the right to change at any time and without prior notice the addressing
classes, the public IP addresses, the ports and tools used in the service.
2. INSTALLATION
Once you have obtained your application package, double-click to install the programme. The name of the
*.exe file follows the sunwayconnect_installer_scuxxx.exe pattern (xxx stands for the unique code of the
application package).
The installation steps to take are given below.

SunwayConnect client will be displayed for a while.
2.2.
Once the connection to the Santerno server has been established, a physical connection to one or more
Sunway Bridge dataloggers may be established. Please refer to the User Manual of the Sunway Bridge for
any detail about the dataloggers functionality.
To reach the target Sunway Bridge, the id code assigned when commissioning the equipment is required
(idlxxx, e.g. idl123).
You can now make up the full nome, by adding the rs.sunwayportal.it suffix. For instance,
idl123.rs.sunwayportal.it.
You can use this name for any service offered by the Sunway Bridge, such as the web interface, the FTP
server, the Remote Sunway server).
For each Sunway Connect, you can define the list of the target Sunway Bridges. That list is to be formally
asked for to Elettronica Santerno and will be authorized once internally checked and approved.
