Define, explain.
Science is understanding or understanding better on how the natural world
works, with observable physical evidence as the basis of that understanding. It
follows a systematic methodology based on evidence and through observation.
There is a standard for observing certain phenomena or acquiring knowledge and
that is what we call scientific method. It starts with mere observation followed by
curiosity resulting to interesting questions, guessing or making some hypothesis,
then testing/experimenting based on the hypothesis. If hypothesis is proven, then
you can make conclusions. However, if an unexpected outcome has been produced,
altering or refining the experiment may be necessary. (100)
Engineering is actually the application of knowledge acquired in order to build
instruments that can solve specific issues. It aims to improve human condition in a
practical approach and cost effective. There are several types of engineering
namely electrical, electronics, computer, civil, chemical, and many more depending
on the application of the knowledge. Engineers are the people who work in the field
of engineering and intellect and skills are merely important for them since an
engineer is responsible on what might happen on the instrument (bridge, power
systems, airplane, etc.) to humans that it might be good or bad. (99)
Economics is the study of managing resources. Resources can refer to time,
money, labor, capital, supply and demand, and the production and consumption of
goods and services. It is important to humans since it seeks to observe the trend of
how people interact with the market to get their desired goals. Economics is very
important in markets and businesses since it might define reasons on how it
succeeded or failed. Like in science, economics also uses methods in order to
produce theories to describe the behavior of economy. (88)

B.
Compare South and North Korea:
South Korea despite having smaller area compared to North Korea manages
to rank in no.11 in nominal GDP and 13th in PPP. 3% of its population is unemployed
which is a good thing. More people employed means more income a country is
making. The government implied here is constitutional. That is, the government has
three branches comprising of legislative, judicial and executive branches. Each of
them performing its certain tasks for the development of their country. The
president is directly elected for a single five-year term by plurality vote.
Immigrants in South Korea are having a hard time to be fully accepted
because South Korea is one of the most homogenous countries in the world.
Concerning about the LGBT gender, South Korea implemented a law that an LGBT
person can have a sex-change operation if their age is twenty years old and above.
Also, every citizen over the age of twenty-one has the right to vote.
North Koreas economy is a centrally planned system. It means the market
production and distribution of goods and services are controlled by a single body.
Economy of North korea is difficult to get since the currency of North Korea is
unconvertible.
North Korea is currently adapting a communist ideology and allying with the
communist bloc it has shut its door to other foreign relation straining its economy
and limiting its growth.
Human rights in North Korea are heavily restricted. There is no right to free
speech, and all media and publications are state controlled. (250)

C. Thinking and Personality Development

Early Child Development and The Childs Conception of the World
A child is born with lots of potential to develop. However, early stages of a
child tends to spend 18 to 20 hours a day in various states of sleep but that doesnt
mean he is not conscious. His mind is still active and can still acquire information. A
child develops his motor and sensory motor followed by its visual and auditory. The
communication of early child is basically by crying or making some loud noise.
As the child is exposed to new stimuli, he can organize these new ideas as he
matures. He makes frameworks in his mind making him able to adapt these ideas
with his environment. As the child develops more, the concept of time slowly
develops. To a young child, later, after 10 minutes, tomorrow would just mean
not now. However he can determine his own activities which are time to eat and
the time to go to bed.
During the young stages of a child, it develops ideas about the happenings on
his surroundings; it may be sky, dreams, the day and night, and etc. As time goes
by, the child is able to develop these ideas and make it more realistic. This is the
time that he is more able to explore his surroundings and with it, makes his own
point of view. (160)
Personality Development
The personality of a child basically has three ego stages: Parent, Child and
Adult. The parent stage basically from its name refers to the parents of a child.
Whatever these parents are doing, it may be a fight or activities in a normal day; it
is recorded to the brain of a child. This recorded information can be a great factor in
affecting the Parent stage of development of a child
The second stage is the Child. With the recorded information from the parent
stage, a child can develop emotional responses; it may be happiness, sadness, or
fear. In early stages of a child, he is unable to speak or express himself, this results
to a child concluding that he is not ok. This response is highly important especially
when the child is mature enough to make reflections.
The third stage is the Adult stage. This is the stage where he evaluates the
responses developed during the Parent stage and the Child stage. However, this
evaluation can easily be altered by the parents or the insecurities of a child. In this
stage, the ability of a childs judgment is highly developed. (191)

D. Population Increase
In general, the population increases in large values in the Philippines as time
goes by. This increase can actually develop some consequences in the development
of the country.
The greatest increase is happening at Mindanao. Increase of population can
lead different ideas for the country especially in the government. Our government,
as we can see today, is not that good enough in handling the budget. Because of
this, poverty may arise and probably inequalities. That is why rebellions develop in
the country and this happens mostly at Mindanao.
The increase of population may also have a big effect on the unemployment
of the citizens. It can result to less chance of other citizens to get a job because of
the competition among them. That is why education is important since it gives you
a closer distance with opportunities. Unemployment means decrease in wealth.
