SONGBYRD MUSIC HOUSE & RECORD CAFE DEBUTS WEEKEND BRUNCH
Songbyrd Music House (2477 18th Street NW, songbyrddc.com) in Adams Morgan is offering brunch
items from new chef Jason Christie along with cocktails and in-house entertainment, starting on
Saturday, November 7th, 2015. The from-scratch kitchen has developed a vibrant take on DC brunch
with locally sourced ingredients in the restaurant, which opened Summer 2015.
Developed by Chef Jason Christie of Portlands Arleta Library Caf, the Songbyrd brunch menu
included in full belowfeatures contemporary takes on brunch classics both savory and sweet,
including sweet potato biscuits with rosemary sausage gravy, a pesto breakfast sandwich, and a bacon
and wild mushroom scramble inspired by Pacic Northwest cuisine. Ingredients are locally sourced
from independent producers, including Logan Sausage (Alexandria, Va.), Davis Mushrooms (Kennett
Square, Pa.), Bear Mountain Orchards (Aspers, Pa.) and Gold Crust Baking Company (Landover, MD).
Aside from providing a great brunch experience for eaters, my main interest is in respecting the
integrity of the ingredients, says chef Jason Christie. That means working with my team to develop
recipes that require day-of preparation, all from scratch.
Songbyrd brunch will be served every Saturday and Sunday from 11 AM - 3 PM. A full bar will also be
available, offering specialty cocktails, craft beer, mimosas and handcrafted Bloody Marys.
